  • A couple of years ago it would have been - bury my head and ignore it. But now, thanks a lot to this site, I know I have the ability and knowledge to sort it out myself.

I have also been quite vocal whilst paying off the debt (was £12k now just under £5k), and I find a few of my friends and family ask my advice on money stuff and I am able to point them in the right direction. Just goes to show, 'it's good to talk'!

I tried going to the CAB in Kingston upon Thames, but they will only see new cases one half-day a week. The receptionist said to arrive early because there's always a queue. This is just to asses whether they will help and then you have to come back another day to actually see an advisor.

    I didn't bother

One of the best things I ever did was to contact the local city council money/debt advice line. The help was great and WE can now sleep at night after years of robbing peter to pay paul etc.I would recommend it to anybody with money/debt problems
