There wasn't a category for debt advice agency/bureaux

I assumed that came under 'someone else'. Thats what I would do if we are talking technically 'calling' someone or I needed help above what I could find myself with my first choice.

Strangely enough there is no category either for 'look it up or ask online' ;):D:confused: so that must come under 'someone else' too.

My first choice would actually be 'Look it up/Ask on MoneySavingExpert' :D :money: but I suppose that isn't calling is it ...

Make that one vote for 'someone else' then ;)

I've been Money Tipped!
I put someone else. Thankfully, I've never had any major debt issues and whatever debt I have had, I've been able to sort out myself. I don't like asking for help on most stuff, just the way I am and tend to sort things out for myself, circumstances have made it that way. When things have been totally !!!!!! a few years back, more personal than financial, I found Samaritans a great help, just to get things off your chest, and they can provide information on debt counselling agencies etc too. A trouble shared is a trouble halved, so speaking to someone neutral I find is a help.

Although I wouldn't hide it from my partner, he's not the person I'd go to, to discuss my worries. He's the sort of person who never worries and assumes that a stroke of good fortune is about to come and rescue us. "Everything will be alright love!" "I'll get you the money, don't worry!"

Well, I like a bit of optimism myself, but if I had real concerns, I would go to my sister or a friend and discuss it with them.

If I was still concerned, then I'd visit a debt counselling agency. I used to work for one and I know what a relief it can be for people to get their help. :T

When I was faced with a huge debt, I went to the Citizens Advice Beaureux. The advice they gave me was spot on and I was able to hold off my debtors (i.e) stop them taking me to court, until I could make a reasonable offer to settle the dept!
