Yep! Greaseproof paper is best, just form into a cone, put your stuff in, fold the top several times to make sure it's all properly closed - and then squeeze gently :)

If the hole at the bottom is too small just cut to size with a pair of scissors.

Quickest way I know of is to cut the corner of a sandwich bag.

Hope this is of some help.

  • If you don't have a sandwich bag, what about any type of plastic bag that you can cut a corner off? Of course make sure it is clean!

Depends if it's got any little holes in it!! You should be fine, just make sure it doesnt have the holes, fill it up (about 1/2 full), twist bag to make a point at one corner, snip the corner off to make a hole the right size, and squeeze.

  • ....when trying to ice some gingerbread men  In my book it gave very complicated (but not very clear) instructions for how to make a greaseproof paper icing bag. No matter how hard I tried I just couldn't get a cone shape that didn't fall apart. So if anybody could shed some light whilst we're on the subject?

It says to fold a rectangle diagonally in half, carefully slice along the fold, fold over one half and you should have a cone. But I couldn't make it work :(

Sounds like double dutch to me!! :o Stick with the plastic bag method - easier and less messy :D

    That sounds odd.

Fold a square corner to corner...

..then fold pointy corner to pointy corner (ie NOT the right angle corner)

..open up one of the "envelope" type bits... ignore the other one...

..cut the bottom corner off to suit.
