That Knock on the door TV Licensing

Right I should Explain , that due to the Mr Ross thing and the amount of money he gets . I have decided since Oct08 I was not going to renew my TV License.

So I have not watched or recorded any Live TV since October , If any one recalls a few months back the TV Licensing body where being looked into as to the way the they correspond with us the public ,

It has been said they are BULLY BULLY boys and not clear in the information
they send out , which is very true as i am finding , O and one is guilty in there eyes.

So what I want to know is it an offence not to contact them and tell them you are not watching live or recording TV.

I have VCR s DVD Rec but all are not connected to any ariel socket , and located yards away from the wall ariel socket.

So when they knock on the door ! and i am watching I player though the TV via the computer connection , I dont have to let them in , or do they think they can just walk right in .

I am being an A ** H o*e to them as they are to me us in the form of correspondance they send out , it gets your back up before you start.

SO should i give up any pay up or what , One thing i have noticed My viewing has completely changed , i am watching less of the box and doing other things . but mind you on I player you still get repeats repeats ,

If it was funded the same way as some of the FreeView Top s , then we could pick what we wanted not what the want to feed us . But they are not going to do that I wonder why !

Thank s for reading , please get back on this one .

Not sure on this, but you may have to let them in just to prove that you are not watching live tv.

You do not have to let them in - at all. They have no right of entry.
They would need to obtain a warrant.

If they ask to come in you can say no, confident in the fact that you are in the right.

Don't know the ins and outs but if the OP has a TV,and a DVD recorder and either or both are capable of receiving TV broadcasts then they are liable to pay the licence fee.
Pulling out the aerial when there's a knock at the door not much of a defence it is.

i can't stand the beeb and never have . i have not asked or applied for anything off them so why are they sending there product/signal to my property. if i want it (BBC) i will ask for it.i don't want to pay the licence. because i don't want there product but if i don't the courts will try and fine me.i wish the European courts or who ever would look at this and ban the licence. then there's the people out of work and struggling income support etc the greedy beeb still want the full amount ££££.
pure greed and the beeb need to be funded other ways asap.!!!!!

s363 of the Communications Act 2003 makes it an offence to install or use television receiving equipment. Installation is taken to mean connection to the mains and/or an aerial.

A magistrates warrant is required to force entry - TVL officers have no power of entry otherwise.
