Hello,
Great thread!
I had my first win (WEM) within a month only started in june/july a case of strongbow form talk sport, then had a huge slice of luck and it came in 3's, as I then received 2 WTC one form the sportsmail for 2 england cricket tickets with face value of £120ish, and then a biggie from NOTW for £6800!! (which was won from just sending them an email with the word credit crunch in the header!)
Its a great hobby. All the people that post here are so generous with their time and support and sometimes even with prizes they cannot use! Massive thanks!
And good luck, keep comping that first win may be just around the corner...

This shows my age, won a fitted kitchen 30+ years ago letter was waiting to be opened when we arrived back from honeymoon, unfortunately we were living in a rented flat, so it all had to be sold. Had a few wins over the years to meet people and do things that we would never have been able to do otherwise. Best win finding this site, making lots of good friends that all think alike and spending every spare minuite comping.

Last day at Uni I went home to a letter from a running magazine telling me I'd won £1,000 worth of Mizuno sportswear just for filling in a freepost questionnaire - that was about 11 years ago now and I still have one of the pairs of trainers!Almost debt-free, but certainly even with the Banks!0

Before MSE, I used to enter postal comps from magazines, I vaguely remember receiving a huge envelope full of makeup about 15 years ago - that was the only thing I ever won........
However, browsing MSE in July 08 I was confused by the number of people with comp wins in their signature - I had never ventured further than the freebie board. So I went to investigate and found the comp board............
My first 'win' was a free download from the Impulse instant win comp - was so excited but then my old pc couldn't cope and wouldn't download it.
Nevermind, things improved and I won over £2.5K between the end of July and December in 2008, including a macbook:j0 -
I've been comping for nearly a year now. I remember my first win. It was a few weeks after I started and it was with Raising Kids website. I won a book about polar bears. Gave it to my daughter - she loved it - it's a fab book!0

My first win was a shrek key ring from an instant comp on here back in 2007. I was really pleased with it even though it wasnt a big or expensive win ,and it got me hooked on the comps. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at Birmingham Childrens Hospital caring for my tiny and very poorly grandson who was born at 29 weeks. Thanks to them he is getting a little stronger every day.:A:A:A0
