Where would I live when I'm working in London?
Where would you and the other prospective FTBers live?
Where would the STRers live?
Where would anyone who prefers to live in rented accomodation rather than be tied to 'bricks and morter' live?
Not everyone wants to live in council housing, so where would these people go?Mortgage Free in 3 Years (Apr 2007 / Currently / Δ Difference)

I'm a republican, atheist. So I have no real issue with seising assets of both the monarchy and the church.

Not many are able to. With things as they are in the property market, aren't we going to need a lot more social housing for the future?
The govt could create useful jobs and public expenditure.0 -

A friend of mine works as a carpet cleaner for rental properties. He was telling me that work is dropping off because the Poles and Chinease that did most of the renting are now !!!!!!ing off back to their own countries.
Yet again, more casual racism on these boards. If you're going to make an ignorant statement, at least spell correctly. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

Most of the newbuild apartment (one 'p' in phlat) blocks could be rather nice with the right occupants. However, put less sociable types in them and they will become every bit as bad as Nelson Mandela House and the ugly towers of the 60s.
We cannot go back to mass, council-run, housing. People didn't care for their homes, paying the rent was well down the list of priorities and council housing was a huge drain on public finances. We need BTL to be part of a modern housing solution. With clearer and improved rights for tenants who pay the rent I think BTL is an attractive option for tenants. My tenant moved from a Housing Association house to my property. I like to think it was because my property is better maintained, has private owners next door and is better managed because I only have one BTL property to worry about.
I'm a Royalist. Off with your heads.
GGThere are 10 types of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those that don't.0 -
GG - did I hear that correctly you only have one BTL property?0

To say that Polish and Chinese people are leaving and going back to China or Poland is not racist, though?...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
No, but he did say "!!!!ing off back to their own countries". Which isn't very nice and does sort of point to a POV that doesn't think they are nice people, or welcome here.neverdespairgirl wrote: »To say that Polish and Chinese people are leaving and going back to China or Poland is not racist, though?Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0
