Deleting data but not formulae in Excel

Options
I wonder if anyone could help me with this. I want to be able to clear the data in a row or a number of rows but leave the formulae in cells which have them. I've tried Help in Excel and the nearest thing I can see is Edit, Clear, but that just seems to work for clearing everything, formats or comments. I want to leave the formulae behind in the cells.
I'm running Excel 2000 by the way. Thanks.

I don't think there is a way of doing this. My best suggestion is a better structure for the spreadsheet so that the data input section/sheet is away from the calculation and output section. Probably not what you want to hear!
  • Although I dont know for sure, but wont protecting the formulae cells allow all the other cells in the row or column to be deleted but leaving the protected cells behind.
  • You could delete the cells with number but leave the cells with formulaes untouched.
Click F5, Special button, from New menu select: click the constants option then "OK".
    Press "Delete"!
