I usually search name with speech marks before and after name. Apparently I have a degree in something, (can't pronounce the word!) I am also a good poet too!

You can also subscribe to google alerts. It only tells you of newly added 'whatever you want alerting about'

That way you get an automatic e-mail each time your name is mentioned on the web, it saves you having to plough through loads of sites over and over again that you've already looked at.

I normally just put my name in quotes (was told ages ago it can make a difference) and search UK only (otherwise it brings up thousands:eek: )!

This isn't always accurate though as my friend recently won something and her name is on the website. When she googles her name as it appears though, it doesn't show up on search results

thanks all - i just googled my name and found myself in competitions winners list. I won 2 comedy dvds. Have emailed the site to say i never received email and can they look into it. Prize may not have been sent out though as the comp ended on 27 Dec. Hopefully they will get in touch!!
