For me we dont have much spare money a wek to save but i have a weekly budget for my market shop (fruit and veg) so anything left form that gets split between 2 pots, 1 is for chirstmas (been saving that since October) and the other is for a baby, i am not expecting yet but we are thinking about it so be nice just to have a bit of change to get small things or for the time i will spend in hospital. (both amounts will get put into ISA on a regular basis to make use of the interest)
with luck we will get into a position where we can save a hell of a lot more and make real good use of my ISA.I love War Of The Worlds:heart2:

I use Quidco to get cashback on Car Insurance, Contents Insurance, Breakdown Recovery etc.
I follow the Grocery Challenge - I find that doing a meal plan for the week ahead (and shopping once a week) helps me stick to my budget without being tempted to by those expensive "extras"
I have a present box - I buy items when they're in a sale. If I can't think of anyone the present wouldn't be suitable for then I don't buy it.
I save £250 p.m. (I treat it like a bill and it goes straight into a regular saver account)£5 per day challenge

We now car share! OH is trying to sell his car (Fiesta ST) so that we just have the one car and can save more.
Car now sold...therefore car loan repaid.
Now the money which would have originally been spent on the loan will be saved each month. Also, a refund on the cancelled insurance is winging its way to OH's account.Squish0 -
I will not now go to my local hairdresser at all ! Although she is less expensive than city centre salons, it,s still £55 every time I go in for the works. I now wait till I can get an appointment with one of the acadamies I,m lucky enough to have access to in the city. Every 5 weeks or so that costs £20 for the same, and sometimes better, cut and colour. I also use to go to the hairdresser for a blow dry at £10 a time, no more.:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o
Well except mastered my mortgage 5 yrs early :T:j

I have started to take the bus to work instead of driving - It costs £30 in petrol and parking to drive and the bus costs £20.20. Fair enough, I have to leave earlier in the morning, but it means I get a little 'me' time as well - in fact, I'm taking the opportunity to re-learn Italian
I take my lunch to work instead of buying - the most I pay is around £1 for a healthy 'main', some fruit and a yoghurt. Today was a baked potato and cheese with fruit and a yoghurt, so about 55p.
My sister will cut my hair instead of me going to the hairdresser - and I'll do her nails/tints.
I think the biggest thing that's gonna save me money is; I don't take my purse to work as I just end up buying 'stuff' I don't need.
I'm using cashback sites and putting the money straight into savings.

I have different accounts for different things, both at the bank and on quicken, the night before pay day I put the money left from the month before into savings.
Always give ourselves an allowance that is put into our own accounts, a bit like pocket money for grown ups!
Then if i overspend this week, i can see how it will have a knock on effect in a month or even six months. It really does stop you getting carried away.
If i draw out cash, i have an account on quicken to put it in and then i account for every penny.
It sounds like loads of trouble, but i have now got my kids to do it and we all know exaclty what we have and you can watch your savings grow.
I do exactly this. I have no idea how I survived before quicken and MSE.
Oh, yes I do, I was £15K in debt...;)

I also have a Terimundi which is filling up nicely with 20p's. No idea how much is in there and I don't intend to open it until it is full.£2 savers club. No.90. Aim £500.0
