Actually would you have the will power to go and get 5 crisps and then leave the rest?? Its all about letting your body have what you want but being able to STOP without going OTT

  • Wow Buffy that is a lot :( at least it will be in stages for me - root canal in two weeks, 250, then wait for the veneers to be made, so I probably have a month in total to find the money. A temporary covering filling was £78! Extortionate. I am with a private dentist because it's either that or NO dentist!

yeah, me too. the first few times I went it wasn't too bad money wise (well pre DFW the cc took it all!!) but now I am terrified everytime I go it will mean more money!

    xx
    Nevertheless she persisted.
  • Im with you on the Pringles front but they have a rather erm 'Laxative' effect on me so I try to steer clear.

I took a picture of me in just my underwear and everytime I am tempted I look at it and remind myself why I am trying to eat healthier - says her that had a flapjack earlier...albeit I managed to eat one and leave the 4 others..minor miracle for me

  • Buffy that's why I haven't been in a couple of years :( which is silly really as prevention costs less than treatment! I have signed up to their direct debit payment scheme - which WILL save me money as it's £11.50 a month, 2 examinations, 2 hygienist visits (going Monday) AND 10% of all treatment. Which on £1500 will cover the years payments anyway!

My mum recently had to shell out £1000 to see a specialist for root-canal treatment that was too deep for the normal dentist to do - so it was either that or an extraction. She fretted over spending the money but I said to her even though it is such a lot she would never regret keeping the tooth. She will have paid that off in 6 months but the gap would be there forever.

I have one tooth missing at the back and consider getting an implant but £2500 is getting into silly money really...
