Craig Tara went through a big refurb last year. This used to be Butlins Ayr. More caravans than chalets, and the chalets are alot further away from the complex.
Southerness is a bit out of the way, near Dumfries. Last time I was down there was a few years ago, and it was looking tired then, but like everywhere else its probably been thro' a refurb.
Sandylands is just outside Saltcoats. Never been there, though I do know a couple of people that own caravans down there and swear by it.
Hope that helps.

Grannies always gets great reviews
Nairn is quieter
And have heard great things about Tummel as well.
Someone i know has a van at Southerness and they love it there, they have been going there for years

ooh thanks
do they have a caravan at the southerness place where the sun holidays are? did that make sense ha ha its early eh!0 -
Yes thats where it is
she says there is a great beach for the kids
But personally I would choose Grannies ( very far north though) or Tummel ( which is pretty central):heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
oh right, thanks

I hear tummel was a bit tired tho but that could be no big deal
do you know anything about eyemouth

fraid not.
the thing about Tummel is if youintend going off site there are still loads of things to do nearby:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
oh right is there
we have three little ones so it would be soft play, wee walks etc that would appeal to us, nothing too well extensive (3 under 5's)

well in that case I dont think it really matters which site then...as far as i am aware all of them have some sort of kiddies playground area anyway.
So really you should be considering what you and your hubby want then........:heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -
I guess so, we def want to avoid any that are minky ha ha and sooooo tired out
