I'm sure theres a potential sale in the Cheshire area for any Aston dealer around there. I think the blokes surname is Portuguese, no wait...... it's coming to me........... Ron something I think........ oh well I'm sure he'll be in touch with them soon. Something to do with dodgy steering on Italian cars I believe?

I had an interview with Aston Martin about 5 years ago, I was in industrial engineering. The interview was at the Banbury plant, drove past it, I thought it was a farm - the assembly was amazing - virtually built by hand and they sprayed by hand.
"Do you have any questions?"
"Yes, will I get a company car?
"Yes, but it will be a Ford!!"
I was offered but turned it down - not because of the Ford - but because of the travelling - we live to the east of Reading and it is over 80 miles to Banbury0 -

Why did you go to the interview in the first place if you knew travelling was involved ?baileysbattlebus wrote: »I had an interview with Aston Martin about 5 years ago, I was in industrial engineering. I came in to this world with nothing and I've still got most of it left. :rolleyes:0 -
My concern is for Lotus as they are a major local employer and yes there set up looks like a farm too - probably as they use an old WW2 air base for test driving.0

Lotus made record profit this year (infact it may have been their first year with good profit at all?).
They diversified and do a lot of green consulting and developing technology for green car companies now.The Head Honcho (does very little work)0 -
Who owns Aston Martin now?

Because I didn't know how long it would take to get there - 80 miles isn't so far if it's motorway door to door.
I drove to High Wycombe - via the the A4 - turned off just before Maidenhead - got to High Wycombe and then onto the M40 - door to door it was almost 2 hours - and I found out junction 11 (Banbury) on the M40 is pretty carp for accidents too. They also wanted me to work part of the time in Gaydon at their Jaguar plant. Which was a few more miles further away.
If the money had been better I might have put up with the travelling - but it was just ok.
So took a job in Abingdon - 50 miles - that was naff for travelling too, M4 then A34 - or across country. On a good day I could do it in about 45 mins - on a normal day about and hour and a half or longer each way.0 -

I think it's some sort of investment group - didn't Ford sell it about 18 months ago?0
