You could try calling your local Richer Sounds and asking if they have one in stock.

    When I called them...

John Lewis say they expect stock on the 13th, but said this does keep moving back

Humax say stock is not due to get to the UK until the 19th and it will *ALL* go into retail not the Humax direct store.

Apparently, the channel choice on Sat Freeview is frustratingly poor compare d to terrestrial Freeview. Some of the channels had contracts with Sky preventing them from being outside of the Sky offering and they can only go Freesat once their Murdoch agreement expires.

Very true, it would be great if Sky went the way of Woolies.;)

It makes you wonder how the marketing department at Humax could get it so wrong. It appears that there is plenty of people out there who are prepared to pay good money even when money is tight, and Humax can afford to let business slip through their fingers. The obvious problem is that there is little or no competition for a comparible product.Come on Panasonic, pull your finger out and make Humax sit up and start taking the market seriously:confused:

Rumours are they had a container load stolen in transit to the UK. No-one can plan for that to happen.

Panasonic are not interested in making a Freesat recorder yet as they say there is not enought programming to justify it.

Well I am not use they are. Its a new product like many new products they can be scarce particularly at this time of year it was only launched in November 2008.

Also there is no competition for pvrs on freesat this is the only one. Yes there is another coming in March I believe. Humax have a good reputation as quality pvrs, its worth the wait. You can get them but you have to diligent obviously not everyone wants to wait or keep digging.

I heard that I am not so sure it was the Humax HDR though. Pansonic have in the works a Freesat pvr with blue ray but no definite time table http://www.pvrjunction.co.uk/panasonic-freesat-pvr-planned/
