All Inclusive Holiday Help

My self and my other half are looking (for the first time ever) to go on an all inclusive holiday in March/April time. (for 2 weeks)
We're looking at Egypt but are open to ideas really so long as its sunny and pref 5*
We know that most all inclusive resorts only allow local drinks and normally only allow you to eat in there a la carte restaurants once a week.
Our budget is tight (£500 max p/p) hence we're leaving it to the last minute... we want to avoid places with € as the pound is so weak at the moment.
Flying from any London airport.
Turkey is out too we went there last year.
Any Advice etc would be great.
thanks

where abouts are you flying from?
I would say Egypt is your best bet for your budget
however for 5 star at a good hotel that might restrict you on 500pp. Some of the hotels that state 5 star over there are not that goodI am a Travel Agent

I posted an almost identical thread a couple of days ago with a similar budget, so i'm very interested in any responses to this question to help with my potential holiday situation.
I'd also be very interested to hear people opinions on whether it is more cost effective to go all inclusive or self catering, based on the assumption that we would like to still eat out maybe 4-5 times over the course of a 2-week break and have the odd night out in a bar.0 -
Sorry we'll be flying from any london airport.
Yeah been reading some reviews of there 5* hotels and there a bit hit and miss really.
I suppose that would be a good idea jon200 the main reason we are going for an all is cost.
If it world work out the same or even slightly more expensive then the flexibility would be nice to eat out.0 -
where in Egypt, and what type of holiday (clubs / beach / peace and quiet etc) - trip advisor is a useful starting point. Budget a bit tight for 2 weeks all inc as others have mentioned....:j0

Hi
I went to Egypt a couple of years ago and £500-ish got me one week. Two weeks would really have been too much with the heat there! Plus the constant tooting at you in the street, people wanting to touch you and buy you gets on your nerves a bit! But it is a really good place to see.
Most of the hotels are finished to a really high standard, I had no problems there at all, I actually felt that their star ratings were too low (i.e a 2 star was more like a 3 and so on)
Good luck
edited to add: my price included pyramids/scuba diving etc.

Tbh, ive never heard any good reports on AI in Egypt, even 5* is fairly basic
so, how about long haul? Cuba is great - you can usually get 2wks for about £500pp at any time of year AI, and even 3* resorts there are quite luxurious
