hi folks
my broadband is up for renewal on 19th jan i currently have option 3 paying £24.46 a month  my line rental is £10 plus vat
my phone bills each month are minimal but there are 4 internet users in the house
I would prefer to stay with bt i live quite rural and not much choice available for other isp
when i rang today i was told my usage would not qualify for option 2 as i have used above its limit at times , so would need to stay on option 3 the best they could offer was
stay on option 3 for £19.56 per month and £8.27 line rental with a 12 month contract
or take up an 18 month contract line rental again £8.27 month 6 months free broadband then pay £22.50 for remainder 12 months
they also including evening weekend free calls that is not a great bonus for me as i use phone very little
be glad of some advice cheers

check sam knows http://www.samknows.com/broadband/.
If you have LLU in your exchange then you can get option 3 at £15.16 a month. If no LLU then your stuck with the prices quoted unless you change isp.

I am also with BT and my contract was up with them in December. Last week this is the deal I got! I did play them against Sky. I have my line rental at £4.50 per month, All calls free including some international countries at £4.50 per month and 12.50 broadband a month which is Option 3 unlimited usage. Hope that helps try and play them against other companies and even themselves. I requested my MAC code via email and got a reply offering broadband down to £15 pm and when I phoned them to get a better deal with the line rental I got it down even further. At the moment Sky are offering line rental at £5 for the first six months. Even if you are not a sky customer they don't know that so play the two companies against each other.0

thanks sealady shall take a look who has what in my area and give it a go well done for you hanging on ..when your contract is up with bt you dont have to renew straight away then ? was panicing thinking i had to act quickly before they gave me another 12 month contract ?? thanks for your help0
-
I don't think so because my contract finished on the 23rd December and only renewed it last week0

Make sure your existing contract is not a rolling one or it will be renewed automatically. Ring them and ask, if it is tell them you don't want it renewed. Then start your bargaining.0
-
Why stay with BT if they insist on long contracts?
Because your line is provided by BT, doesn't mean that you have to use them for Broadband, there are quite a few far better ISP's that only have a 30 day contract.0 -
thanks djohn and inactive have just rang up as never thought of "rolling " contract am not on one , but no better offers from bt yet0
