It may or may not increase. I changed from Sky to O2 a month ago & mine increased from 6.2mb to over 8mb(sometimes 9mb), all that has changed is a different router from O2. I did not change for speed, I changed because Sky were doubling the price. So it was a bonus that the speed has increased.

O2 said my line can support 3mps but iam currently only getting 1mps with sky. So does switching suppliers increase your speed or am i stuck with 1mps ?0

What is the distance to your exchange? Although it is the same line, you would be connecting to different equipment so your speed may well increase. Is your 1Mb when plugged into the BT master socket? Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

tried the bt master socket still 1mps distance is 2661 metres from the exchange, done a search on samknows and its says 3mps.0

Is that the master socket test socket?
Using this eliminates any extension wiring that may be causing problems. I would have expect you to get a faster speed, if only 1661 metres from the exchange. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
i meant 2661 sorry ! yeah tried the test socket0
