My fossil Nokia 3310 has finally died.
I am with Orange OVP virgin equivalent tariff since AGES ago (2001)
I pay no line rental.
I pay 5p per minute for calls for the first 15 minutes of each day then something cheaper after that.
I pay 10p per text.
I make most of my calls during the day (7a to 7pm) - coz I'm not allowed to use my work phone to make calls.
I text anytime.
I also have another phone on this contract too.
for both phones together the average call minutes is 60 per month, texts is 60 per month
Emergency calls between 7pm and 7am are about 10 minutes per month.
I get really confused about tariffs etc and want to stick with Orange if I can - to keep my number.
I only want a phone that is a phone and will do texts - NO camera, WAP or anything fancy.
Can anyone suggest
a Nokia phone that will be like my 3310 i.e. very basic/ no frills.
an Orange Tarriff that isn't gonna break the bank (my usual bill is WELL under £15.00 - yes really!!)
Can I stay with my old contract and get another phone, just move the SIM over to the new phone? how much will this cost?
Also the other phone is starting to go a bit pete tong now. Is it worth upgrading them both now? What sort of deals can I expect - can I go to Carphone hoarhouse and ask them to match a deal from the interweb.
Hope someone can help me. Thank in advance for any and all help offered.

have a look at this thread, its about the nokia 1100 which is similar to the 3310, just newer!

there easy to unlock (for free) on this site so it does't matter what network the nokia's are on0 -
A few weeks ago, there was a thread that Orange appeared to have made a mistake and allowed upgrades on OVP Virgin tariffs.
I don't know if it's still possible. I'll find the thread; back in a few minutes

errr, yes, it appears from the last few posts that Orange have closed the loophole, but maybe it's worth a quick look0 -
If you are with Orange 0n the OVP Virgin tariff I wouldn't cancel it, because they no longer offer that tariff. You could get a cheap handset and put the SIM in it and continue as is.
Or you could get this new free handset from e2save.com on Orange, free line rental for 12 months via cashback, 1000 minutes per month in the evenings and weekends. You could still use your existing SIM in it if you wished to. Here's a link:

Ditto Steve_xx's comments. I'm on OVP Virgin and I have since purchased another phone and put my SIM card into it. From what you've said, something like the Nokia 1100 would be ideal.0

Hi all
Thank you all for your advice and everything.
I am going to get two Nokia 1100s
From Amazon (39.98) via the r points click through,
CPW have the same phone but cost is £10 more (even if I sent back my dead phone it works out the same but CPW don't have click thu from Rpoints)
And paid for with my Tesco credit card I'll get clubcard points too.
Thank you all for your advice - you are the best.just in case you need to know:
