Monitoring how many GB you use -new tool!

Apparently watching two episodes of Survivor on BBC-Iplayer has blown my 15GB monthly allowance, with BT. Don’t believe it but nothing you can do about it.
Cleverly or sneakily they don’t give you any way to monitor your broadband usage, how convenient for BT. It allows them to screw you with extra charges and you only find out you have exceeded your limit when they charge you.
Anyway.... found this tool on http://www.thinkbroadband.com/tbbmeter.html
It allows you to see exactly how much you have used each day/month and set up alarms if you approach your limit. I’m running vista and have had no problems so far. Hope this helps everyone

Please be aware that this TBBM software also installs Isposure software written by Epitiro on your PC, which periodically carries out various automated tests using your bandwidth. Even if the TBBM software is uninstalled, the Isposure software is not!
Stick to a well proven bandwidth monitoring program like NetMeter, as it does exactly what it says on the tin, without any hidden agenda and without needing to release fixes on a daily basis like TBBM.

What is the isposure / Epitiro automated testing software that is installed?
tbbMeter performs passive monitoring of your connection to help you record statistics about your connection and usage. The isposure automated testing software does active testing to measure how good your connection is for different Internet services such as web browsing and VoIP traffic. The statistics generated will be used to build a larger picture of how broadband Britain truly performs.
Will tbbMeter continue to work if I uninstall isposure?
Yes, but you may not have access to the full range of statistics when we launch the accompanying website.
I have just uninstalled isposure through add/remove programs no problems the meter still works.0 -
I'd believe it. Not the whole 15GB on 2 hours of iplayer, but at full screen quality, you'd be looking about 1.3GB an hour. I'll bet there's other web surfing you've been doing too, the occasional youtube vid here and there (1MB a minute), it all adds upApparently watching two episodes of Survivor on BBC-Iplayer has blown my 15GB monthly allowance, with BT. Don’t believe it but nothing you can do about it.
