  • my last two cars new focus st's have three gauges on the dash one of them is the oil temp and one the oil pressure
the oil temp gauge does take a long time to reach the desired operating temperature as above
remember it is nice to be important
but more important to be nice ;)

i was talking to a trader today and he was having real problems with a customers golf and by all accounts vw have finally admited(dont know if titherev can back this up) they have a problem with a batch of golfs immobilisers that are faulty when the temperature reaches -2 degrees.

  • morning all - thank god it's friday!

my car is playing up, i dunno if anyone can help. Any comments much appreciated!

    VW Golf V6 4motion...2001.

the thing is, it started ok, i left it running to warm up (as i do every morning) after de-icing it... when i got back in it, the dashboard lights were off... now i know they should have been on cause the side lights were on and i'd put them on see the heater controls, as easier to see when lit....

    Any ideas anyone?

This is pretty similar to what I am experiencing now and also had a couple of years ago. I have a 2000 Mk 4 1.6 Petrol Golf. This occurred after the car was covered in snow. Last time I think the fault was diagnosed as an earth problem. Would be interested to know what the resolution to your problem was. Just got it serviced last week which was another £500.
