Hope your right, but experience suggests it's 50:50 if you get all the drivers in 64 bit version. It won't be the major drivers it will be something small and annoying that will be missing driver...

There's a very probably chance that the hardware will have a preloaded driver within Windows that Microsoft have provided or it's reached it's EOL and wouldn't be functional in Vista at all, regardless of it being x86 or x64.

Theres pages of the spec, you can check it out on ebay this is the listing title:

    ltCurve.gif

    CORE2 QUAD Q9550 / 1Tb /9800GTX+ 512MB / 8GB DDR2800MHZ

Just been reading through it and it does say its 8gb but will be restricted to 4 gb if you use 32 bit - "with 64 bit there will be no such limitation"

So it looks like it will be ok with that OS

    nah..£700 chances are onboard sound!

!?!?!?!? I'd love to sell you a PC mate. I can see me making a hefty profit ! :p

It's actually quite a well specced PC ... I'd make a few changes if I bought it but it's still a really good spec.

Considering the money I've spent at ccl, aria and ebuyer recently...I doubt it ;)

    ..oh...did I see onboard sound mentioned... ;)

    :A

I'd have liked a bit more info...HDD make and model, same with the ram, GPU and the PSU

and an edit....looking at the e-store...if the PSU is the one they sell for £20...then I'd put it in the bin and go buy a new one, cheap PSUs have a tendency to kill computers :(

Sadly thanks to the new audio stack in Vista, there's no longer any advantage running Creative et al soundcards as there's no way to use the hardware acceleration.

Nothing major.. .I woulda gone for 4gb RAM and put the extra cash into either an ATI 4870 or a 9800 GX2. Better performance for the money and it's easy to stick in the extra 4GB in a few months once he's got a bit more cash to spend. Not important though - it's still a good machine.
