  • Asda does an 8" x 10" chocolate sponge cake for £8.86.Its actually what they use as the "photo cakes" but im sure it will do the job. Comes on a gold cake board and a red ribbon round it.

Northern...just a thought...do you know if they do bigger sizes(serves 15)? There isnt an ASDA too near here for me to look. But i can go when i go into town.
  • we got ours from www.fancifulcakes.co.uk they are a home run business in east sussex.

lots of people make up their own using marks and spencers cake.

our friends had a cake stand and made their own fairy cakes which was nice

Not in the chocolate they dont. Only in the plain sponge. I think that 1s about 15" x 10" for £14.97.

I would say the normal size should be big enough if its for 15 people.

I don't know how cheap they are but Druckers do some fantastic chocolate cakes. I think they feliver. It might be worth a look.
  • Hello!
I have the easiest recipe in the world for chocolate cake. Easy in the way that it takes 1 bowl to mix, one pan to bake and it ALWAYS rises. If you live anywhere near the north east I'd gladly make you one and put you some plain buttercream/icing on.
If you want the recipe let me know and I'll scan it in and email it.

  • oh and it freezes for up to three months undecorated.
