Huge apols! Blimey, those 3 months went by quickly, if only the mortgage was reducing at the same rate!
Am off to provide an update. Hope I'm not too late.

Talking of the end of the year, I wrapped the first of my Christmas presents today! I'd taken advantage of the photobox 50% off 'flash sale' a couple of weeks ago to get photo calendars of the kids for some of the rellies - job done. It'll be a long while before any more are done, I think!Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0

I got all of mine out the other day and added chocolate oranges to the mix. I managed to get 66 in the glitch which is great
. I've ordered DD's main present and DS's main present so not too many left to get hopefully.

Is anyone finding higher utility bills, and other inflation, having an impact on their mortgage-free plans?
I still don't really know, as we've only been in our lively house for two years with this being our third winter. We had a new boiler and woodburner fitted the first winter, and double-glazing last year, plus a new energy-efficient fridge this year, so Our energy consumption is falling and setting off at least some of the price rises. It's meant I can't use price-comparison websites to find the cheapest deal and instead fixed with our current supplier.
How's everyone else doing? What's having the biggest positive and biggest negative impact on your mortgage-free plans?Mortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -

The biggest positive for me is that I started a new job earlier in the year, which means I primarily work from home.
It came with a pay rise, so that helps with overpaying as does money saved in petrol costs and naughty sandwiches bought at lunchtime.
The flip side is that our utility bills - heating and electricity - will be higher, but I'm sure that we'll be better off overall.Highest mortgage debt - £167k in Dec 2008
