Second last overpayment of the year will be going in today. We've managed to scrape together £3600, which will leave us with only £1000 to pay before 12th December :j That will mean we've managed our full overpayment of £12900 this year, which I am delighted with.
    Mortgage Free in 3-T2 : Started at £151,000 Nov. 2009 Mortgage Free Oct 1st 2015 :)

  • Just logged into my mortgage account for a wee check but no joy. There seems to be something wrong it lets me log in but doesnt show the account. Anyone else with the Nationwide having the same problem?
  • Glitterball - I can't even log in, so I guess they have a problem at the moment.

    Hi,

Apologies but I'm currently not working and don't expect to be back for a year. Hopefully I can pick up the challenge next time around.

Many thanks for organising and sorry I've had to drop out.

  • Hoping to achieve original target, even with a little obstacle. DD1s A level results were fantastically good for her and secured her a place at first choice at Uni which she is likely to accept. Have redone budget and hoping to continue to make reasonable overpayments even with weekly payments to DD1 to cover food etc. HAve a reasonable nest egg for each of three children but hoping to keep it intact for a deposit on a property, and hope to be able to fund living costs at Uni (as long as they also get employment and make a fair contribution).

Well done to DD :j. Can I make a suggestion, having had 2 kids go through uni & heard all the trials & tribulations? Rather than give her money for food, let her use her loan to buy that. Pay her rent for her instead - that way you'll know it's paid. My DD asked me to do that, and I then did the same with DS. I know of quite a few parents who coughed up every month, then ended up coughing up again when it turned out the rent hadn't been paid for 4 months. And it was often the 'sensible' kids - not the naughty ones :o.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort
    :) Mortgage Balance = £0 :)

Very sensible idea!! Then the food money can't ''accidentally'' become a liquid lunch? =P

    2010 O/Ps - £5,000. 2011 O/Ps - £1,978.42.

  • According to my spreadsheet, I am going to comfortably beat my target of reducing our mortgage to £133k by the end of 2012.

Hopefully rates won't jump around in the near future, so I'm going to revise our target - FB, can our new target be to reduce our mortgage to £130k?

    Thanks :)
