Hi! I would like to join the challenge I am currently on the MFW 2009 thread and am making overpayments but would like to set an end goal to be mortgage free. I will update with figures nearer the time as I am actively overpaying. Our mortgage is currently just over £57,000 with 14 years to run. I am overpaying by £100-300 per month and am about to shorten the term to 10 years but will have more definite figures towards start of challenge date. We are in a fixed rate at 6.85% that is due to end June 2010, so hope to make a lump sum payment when this deal ends.
I want to be mortgage free in 3 so I can go part time when my youngest goes to primary school, if I have no mortgage to pay this would cover my reduction in wages. Also if I was part time I would not need any child minding, which again would lessen the cut in wages.0 -

Hi elliemoo,
Apologies for the delay in replying. You're questee no. 40, and in fact, you're the first person to join this challenge in April. I'll PM you back in case you miss this.
Once again, apologies for the delay.

Welcome Elliemoo
It's gone quiet on here recently. Is anyone else doing anything to prepare for the start of the challenge?

@ gingernutbizkit,
Yes - has gone a bit quiet here. I've been sidetracked with some credit card fraud, and I've not been posting here in recent days. Mind you, I'm still keeping an eye on MSE and especially the mortgage forum!
Excellent news on that £12800 paid off by the way...

We're all still here
, just chuntering along quietly, paying the pennies off - on the home run now
