7600 SIM in other NOKIA, HELP!!!!

Hello
I have a major problem.

I was lucky enough(or not) to get hold of a £4.99 deal on the Nokia 7600 with the 3 sim and 500 xnet mins.

I have to be honest and confess that the phone did not interest me but the sim card was perfect, I thought.

However, I have tried to insert it into both my 6510 and 8310 ( I know I am an old fart, but I like these models and I understand how they work!!!!) both are unlocked.

Unfortunately the 3 sim is not recognised by the phones and I am unable to use it. I feel that i must be doing something wrong but I cannot understand what.

I would appreciate any words of wisdom, or even abuse should I deserve it.

Many thanks and keep up the good work.

The SIM is 3G whilst the other two phones are 2G.

The 3 SIM will only work in a 3G enabled phone - the 7600 or the various others by NEC, LG etc. If you are now tied in to the contract I guess you had better get learning the new phone!!
  • Ah! the wisdom and knowledge of modern machines which only the youth have.

I cannot thank you enough, answered within 6 minutes.

I now have to get my head around the 7600 instruction manual. NASA found it easier to land men on the moon!

3 sims can actually work in 2g phones, theres a list of 2g phones that can accept the 3 sims here: http://www.geocities.com/drtamseel/2ph3sim.html
unfortunately the OP seems to have 2 of the 2g phones that dont appear to work with 3 sims.
