Starting to look at juggling cards again...

in Credit cards
Now I don't mind going for LOB cards if that's the best bet, but at present I have:
Egg Loan: > £6k
Citi card (LOB rate): £900
Barclay card(0%): >£4k
MBNA (0%): >£4k (this is the one I want to move)
AmEx Paid in full each month - this is my cash back card.
Now I DO have a mortgage too (no idea how much of a difference that makes on your application) and my credit score is in the 980's on Experian - ie NEVER missed a payment etc - there aren't any blemishes on my file at all and only one recent search (car finance which for some reason doesn't show as a debt on my mini summary that Experian do...)
So... all the MBNA card deals are out I guess? Who is the 2nd best out there? Don't want to search and be rejected if it's pointless to apply in the first place
Any ideas?

You have two chances, none and zero of transferring that lot during this climate. They are knocking back people with impeccable credit history with no debt. If i was in your situation i would forget about card tarting as they days are well over and try and get the high APR cards paid off first. Failing that a lower 8 ish percent loan to cover them but again in this climate not very likely.
Sorry to be so negative but i think you just have to bite the bullet and start paying them off.0 -

I think quite the opposite ! For those with good credit histories the crunch doesn't apply nearly as much. Companies have cut back more on those with riskier profiles. Being a regular tart/stoozer myself. I've had no problems whatsoever getting cards whenevr I want them and the most recent application 4 weeks ago gave a healthy £26K to stooze away. Those with good clean histories can still pick n choose ! Tarting/stoozing days are far from over !!! The money to be earnt/saved from cards is decresing due the low BOE rate, but I think you're being over dramatically negative. There may come a time when it gets really difficult, but those times are not here, (yet) !
The OP has every chance of getting another card with a decent 0% offer as her outstanding debt doesn't appear very high to me at all, though she doesn't state available credit or much other detail.
OP, forget your score of 980, it's meaningless except to Experian as there is no such thing as a credit score in this format. All card companies uniquely decide applications based on their own criteria at the time, not on an Experian 'score' of this nature.
OP, I suggest you consult this table and decide which card is best for your circumstance.0 -
tesco do 0% for 14 months..0

LOL you're right I'm not stating much other detail... ok income £35k and available credit about 8k - At the moment I'm only really worried about moving the MBNA card the other card has a long 0% yet to run (way over 7 months still).
I WAS thinking about Tesco, I used to have one a couple of years ago and found that they gave me a very low limit back then... it might have changed (and I know my credit worthyness has certainly improved since I took that card out - well I simply have MORE credit history for them to look at and see that I am a good girl lol)
Does that help any?DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!

Just a quick update
Applied for Egg Card and got rejected (no idea why!) and had a couple of busy days so didn't do anything about it - today thought - heck I'll check the A&L deal they have for their premier customers as I have an account with them (mainly used for moving cash on to withdraw at my post office)... well long and short - got approved for £4500 in less than 15 mins... so now I have 2 MBNA cards LOL
Moving the balances will be tricky no doubt as it's from one MBNA to another so will have to filter it through a current account or two but I'm sure it's doable
Still unsure about why Egg rejected me - but just goes to prove that they all have their own agenda and criteria.
Thanks for all your help and advice though guys - was much appreciated having a safetynet with good advice as although I know a fair bit I balance transfer so rarely it's a little out of my comfort zone... So a HUGE thanks!DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
