Big notice when i logged into my account, done a search on top of that and came up with this. It not only affects the Asda card but all of their cards.

On 7th January 2009 GE Consumer Credit Services Limited, the company which provides your card account, was acquired by Banco Santander SA ("Banco Santander"). As a result of this acquisition, GE Consumer Credit Services Limited will no longer be owned by GE and will instead be part of the Banco Santander group. Over the coming months you will notice that references to GE Consumer Credit Services Limited are replaced by Santander Consumer Credit Services Limited. There is nothing that you need to do in relation to this change, all current payment arrangements will stay as they are today. If you pay by Direct Debit your payments will be collected as usual.

Yep, Santander have been on with this for a while, well at least 6 months i think.

Stuff like Fiat group auto finance have been passed over and probably all the store cards too.

I would doubt it but i don;t deal with GE Money myself.

I know a few people who work at one of their offices in Leeds so might get to hear of redundancies etc in due course.

When Santander took over my ex-employer (Abbey group) lots of cost saving measures, cancellation of projects, dept merges and off-shoring.

Some things look to have improved though with credit cards coming back from MBNA.

Does anyone know if that means Santander can legally take money from an A&L current account to offset money owed to a GE Money card????

Anyone know? Anyone seen any changes in T&C's??????

I've never heard of a credit card company just taking the money, without a DD already being set up.

    So I wouldnt really worry.
