Satnav that navigate through a tunnel?

I'd be interested to know if Satnavs work in tunnels....

    I don't think they do. I think they estimate how fast you where going and guess where your going until it gets the signal back.

    Not really, but my TomTom Go continue to plot the car on the map as if you are going at the same speed as when you enter the tunnel. It turns the display grey while doing this to indicate its not getting any current sat fixes. It soon picks back up on exiting the tunnels.

    You did get, maybe not anymore, sat navs with gyro arrays along with the data DVD and recievers fitted in the boot. They can make a very good guess at tunnels and turnings from the gyros.

    the one in my bmw is dvd based and is supposed to use you current speed and direction to predict where you are when a sat signal is lost
