  • I just got tickets to see The Proposal tonight at 6:30pm, I even set up an account for my dad so that he can go with my mum as well! I'm really chuffed I got the email for a suitable time for once, up until now I've only been to one preview with SFF (other previews over the years though), that was for Marley and Me which I thoroughly enjoyed, unfortunately for my parents that preview was while they were on holiday so they couldn't make it lol! Hope tonight's preview goes better than some of the others I just read about:eek:
  • I just received this e-mail.:

I went to see The Taking of Pelham 123 in Ipswich, it was brilliant. Hubby enjoyed it too and he's no a JT fan like me. Well worth seeing but was surprised that there weren't many people there tonight.
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

  • Went to see Coco Avant Chanel on Monday. Some people walked out as soon as they realised it was subtitled. Do they not research the films before they go? All it takes is a quick shufty on IMDB and it saves wasting tickets that others might have appreciated more.

Anyway, I really enjoyed the film, as did my Mum. Very girly. Very pretty cinematography. A slightly romanticised version of Chanel's life but a film is always going to be and it's nice to see movies for free that you might not otherwise have seen.

Last night was The Taking of Pelham 123... can't comment on any comparisons between the remake and the original because I haven't seen the original :) Claustrophobic and very predictable, but in an entertaining way. I can't decide whether it was propaganda in favour of the NYC Police or opposed to their methods of dealing with crime, relying on a lay person to do the dirty work.

I can't really say much without spoiling it but it's something to think about :)

Also... for the person in Cineworld Sheffield troughing with noisy sweet wrappers last night, please restrain yourself in future. Very rude when people are trying to listen.

Night off tonight... but off to the cinema again on Thursday to see Antichrist.

Reading the synopsis, I didn't think it would be something I would actually enjoy going to watch. But the Daily Mail have put a "ban this sick filth" article out about it so I've decided to go and make my own mind up.

It sounds like it was lucky to receive an 18 certificate and not be outright banned, and apparently the UK are getting the completely uncut version.

Please do your homework before you go and see it. Pop the words "antichrist" into Google news and you will get some idea of what to expect.

Not in my opinion. The original was a classic, but I enjoyed it. It was far better than that version they did in the late 90's. A very respectable remake.

Denzel was good as usual, playing the sort of reluctant hero.

I've never actually managed to get free tickets from seefilmfirst or any of the others. I wondered what kind of ticket you get? Do you get a ticket on your phone? Could anyone send me a ticket [past one obviously] so I can see what they are like? Thanks in advance.
