What a nightmare. Manchester Odeon royally messed up the screenings of Imagine That and The Proposal this morning. I went to see The Proposal. After waiting in line outside the cinema until 10.15, we were finally ushered in. First we were sent to screen 10. At 10.45 a member of staff came in to tell us that the concessions stands were open. Trailers (rated U – kids film?) came on at 10.55.

Then we were told to go to screen 20. On the way to 20 I asked a member of staff where The Proposal was and was assured that 20 was the right screen. Screen 20 then started playing Imagine That.

Then we were sent to screen 14. Finally, the right screen, but the film was halfway through.

I imagine hundreds of people (including lots of kids for Imagine That) have been left very disappointed. Those of us that refused to watch the film from halfway through were offered a token gesture of a free cinema ticket.

Really, how hard is it for the staff to find out which screen has which film?

    Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I was there too to see Imagine That, same type of fiasco - complained on my way out and got 3 free tickets for me and my kids!

Went to Kingston to see Imagine That with DD. First time at the cinema and last time also. The most difficult staff ever. 5mins late and refused entry. Had to wait for manger/supervisor type to show up, by now film started 15mins ago, got the same rubbish but I was not budging and in the end he relented. After coming all the way from Bromley, believe I was going to get into the bleeding screening.

Makes me appreciate my Croydon screenings all the more :)

Went to see Imagine That at the Cardiff Showcase this morning didn't know what to expect of the film as Eddie Murphy can be a bit hit and miss lately but really enjoyed it thought it was a cute story. The cinema seats were so comfy much better than lots of the screenings that i had been to of late would definitely recommend that showcase to anyone.

We went to Odeon Southampton this morning and thoroughly enjoyed it. The cinema was so empty though - maybe cos the tickets were offered in late May I think - I know I have had them sat around for ages so perhaps people forgot?
There was also another showing of The Proposal going on at the same time there = we saw it last week though in Odeon Port Solent and that was hilarious too.

To be fair it does say on the tickets, no entry once the film has commenced. and this is because they want you to see the whole film so you can give it a fair review.
I know 5 minutes isn't really that late, but I for one wish more cinemas would refuse entry to people who are late to these free screenings, as i always seem to have some idiot trying to squeeze past me to a free seat after about half an hour of the film.

I agree hate latecomers have never been late to a free screening yet, there's nothing more annoying than missing a part of the film when somebody is intent on squeezing past you, once the film has started i think that should be it and they should say tough luck.

perhaps those that are up to 15 minutes late should have to pay for their tickets, after that then definitely no entry. This would save people not caring because its 'free' and allow those who are genuinely a few minutes late the opportunity to still get admission.

went to see proposal again. Got to cinema about half an hour early (10.30) and went in to check when they were opening doors. Usher said they were going to start the film in about ten mins cause they were almost full!! Managed to get a decent seat and they did start the movie early but they kept letting people in (which am sure they had too) and 1. I felt really sorry for those who turned up on time but the movie had started and 2. felt v cheesed off at the people scrambling around in the dark trying to find seats together.

    Still, great movie

Went to Showcase in Walsgrave yesterday mornng with my daughter and a few of her friends (7 of us in total)to see Imagine That. Travelled for 45 mins (we live in Birmingham) only to get there and be told by the manager that SFF had cocked up and they knew nothing about the film !!! Everyone was given complimentary "emergency tickets" to be used at a later date but I was seething! Another SFF !!!! up!! I complained about this before, was told that I would be sent 2 free tickets and nothing ever arrived so I'm not even contemplating wasting my time emailing SFF about this issue. Glad everyone else seemed to enjoy their screenings of this film.
    lovin' this site!
