I paid it online this morning at 10am...but then discovered that despite paying withing ten and a half hours of getting it, it'll be overdue - it's due to be paid on 11th January and paying online takes 2 working days.
!
If you paid it Thursday morning and it takes 2 days then won't it clear Saturday anyway? Plus 11 Jan is a Sunday so you might be alright anyway.
But yes - DD is the way forward....Proud to be dealing with my debts!

Working days means it'll be Monday, unfortunately.Trembling_Turnip wrote: »If you paid it Thursday morning and it takes 2 days then won't it clear Saturday anyway? Plus 11 Jan is a Sunday so you might be alright anyway.0 -
I've been caught out twice with Virgin taking ages and ages to credit my account with payments I have made. Luckily I am now shifting the balance to a new interest free card, I am never dealing with MBNA again. My Wins: £150 Next giftcard. Rimmel Lip Gloss, Benefit Lipstick and lipgloss. This was the subject of a letter in the Guardian money section a month or two ago, that Virgin's credit card statements are consistently arriving a full week or more after the statement date, and the due date is often a Monday, meaning that you have are left with only a few days between receiving a paper bill and having to make the payment.
I've been noticing it myself too, the longest delay was my November statement, which arrived 8 days after the date it was printed. Can't help but wonder if this is a sly deliberate way to rack up late payment fees and to encourage default on promotional rates.0 -
Thanks for all of your replies. I checked my account online this morning and they've charged me £12 late fee. I know that's not much to some, but I was so determined this was going to be my year to become debt free and on Friday I had to agree to a 25% paycut (property related job) as the business isn't doing well. I've written to Virgin to see if they will waive the fee as I always pay on time and have now set up a DD."I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together."
