I'm in here for a nag only coz I don't know where else to post and unlike my normal happy go lucky self today I am having a right old self sympathy fest
I am fed up with being in f***ing pain and no matter how high I put my heating on 24/7 my joints still are in agony from the cold and I don't know what to do other than dose myself up with so many pain killers that I feel like an extra from Zombie dawn of the disabled! Sigh on well I know there are thousands+ of others out there suffering and I shouldn't moan but hey I'm having a bad day and this girl decided she's had enough pretending all is well when her friends keep texting her if she's ok and will spill her guts on here lol sorry guys and I'm not here for sympathies etc I know most of you are struggling too I'm just here to vent my spleen eeek! Thanks for listening you may throw your rotten tomatoes now.:(_pale_

Hi TaBunny, sorry to hear you are suffering, can't begin to imagine what it is like daily for you. I don't know what illness you have but you say about your joints being cold, I expect you have tried this (and don't want to patronize you), if you put leg warmers over your elbows and knees would this help? If they are too tight have you tried cutting the sleeves off fleeces and using those? Did this when hubby was very ill last year to keep his leg warm.0

Hey thanks for the tip, I do have leg warmers etc but it seems the cold gets right inside my bones, I have Rheumatoid arthritis very advanced and osteoporosis so my old bones (ha I'm 43!) are very thin and hate the cold. Thing is I have such limited movement that if I bulk up too much on clothes I can't move so I am having to make do with trousers and jumpers and fleecy slippers etc and shuffle about now and then, I do think that the immobility makes me colder as sometimes my daughter will come in after a day at school and say the house is boiling and yet I'm sitting there shivering like Sherpa Tensing on a mountain.0 -
Hello TaBunny,
We all need to have a rant every once in a while.
Although I'm not suffering like you, I do understand what it's like trying to put on a happy face day after day, trying to convince the world that everything is ok, because if I didn't, I'd blubber like a baby.
I think the leg warmers sounds like a great idea, and some gel hand / pocket warmers might be useful to pop inside, just to add some extra warmth.
Think about trying something new. I've just started reading, haven't picked up a book for years, but I am finding it quite theraputic.

Hey muchie yeah I have some of those hand warmer things but I can't boil them to re kindle them I'm using microwave wheat bags. Oh yeah I got back into reading in a big way last year, like you hadn't read for years and then I managed to read 36 books last year, I've already read 2 this year and it's only 8th lol I love escaping into fiction it's my outlet mind you I'm a bit worried why I seem to love 'mens' fiction like Clive Cussler and Bravo Two zero kind of stuff rather than some nice girlie romances which I can't stand lol maybe I have too much testosterone lol.

i suffer osteoporosis, also have a pair of false knees and hips next and i'm only 35 feeling 80 in this weather, my doctor on monday put me on arcoxia for realy bad days, im on max daily dose of 120mg and boy it feels like i've been smacked in the face by a crack factory lol. they are good for the short term but as you cant take them for more than 8 days at a time not sure how i'll feel next week.0

both my wrists are very painful today, i have not been diagnosed with any kind of arthritis, in fact they don't know whats wrong with my right arm at all, but today is a painful day, but i nice hot soak in the bath helps me when i feel chilled to the bone.
Surprisingly I'm not cold today.
Hugs to the OP hope you get some relief soonLife is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?0 -
Hiya Ta Bunny
sorry to hear you're feeling so down. We all get days when we feel rotten so don't feel bad about being p**sed about it. RA is a really nasty condition esp in this weather I have something simmilar and like you spend all day trying to keep warm. On bad days I make sure I ring/email my friends for a natter, watch my fave comedy shows, push the boat out and order a pizza, I've even taken up writing short stories (or typing: it's easier on the hands), I try anything to try and distract myself from the pain and isolation. But I do know what you mean some days I nothing seems to lift things. Don't be hard on yourself, remember you'll have good days too, they'll come back. Don't know what else to say, other than I'm sending you a big hug and hope things don't stay rotten for too long
All the best hun

Hey, TaBunny, it's that time of year.
The Xmas excitement is all over, the weather's lousy, and spring seems a million years away. I know what you mean about the pain and the cold; I have nicked Mr LW's fleece - it's miles too big for me, but it does keep the chill out at bit.:o At least we have this forum to let off steam on. Sending you a gentle Wolfy ((((HUG)))), and hoping that tomorrow's a better day.
EDIT: Btw, I can't stand girlie romance stories, either. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
TaBunny sorry you are feeling low.
I don't like girlie romances either - I am more a Clive Cussler, John Connolly, Michael Connolly, John & Faye Kellerman, Jamers Patterson fan (I have no idea why I like crime books)0 -
Morning Ta Bunny, hope you are feeling a bit more yourself today.
I am in a foul mood this morning after being awake all night. Took my M.S medication last night and instead of going to sleep before the side effects kicked in had some "fun" with Mr Chloecat.
As a result i spent all night aching from head to toe, boiling hot head and freezing body. My vertigo has gone into overdrive and i now can't sleep or wake up properly!
Lots of love to you, put on some music you love and have a jig about by the window where people can see you. Guaranteed to cheer you up for a bit xxx0
