Generates more continuous steam (130g/m vs 40g/m) so that the wrinkles come out easier!
Struggled with an ordinary steam iron for years, now using one of these, cuts ironing time in half and much less work, great for me cos I hate ironing0 -
The Irons are fab...got the tefal 2950 in Argos at Christmas for £114.99 - half price....best money i ever spent, i no longer dread doing the ironing..!!!0

Thanks for the post, how do these Irons work? Is the steam generated in the base? Does where does the limescale build up? Do I need to buy cartridges for it?
I live in a hardware area.
Where do you place the base unit on the ironing board.
The base looks quite big, is it heavy?
Does it need to kept in a permanent ironing place or can it be stored away during the day?
Thanks.Seth.0 -

No idea how they work but you dont need to buy cartridges. I place the base at the side of the ironing board to save some space. It is quite heavy compared to an ordinary iron but the benefits well outway thisI keep mine in a cupboard so no problem storing it.
BTW I got mine on a voucher for £75 from Costco and even without a voucher which I think will have expired by now they are less than £100 - mind you you would need to pay a Costco joining fee if you are not already a member so I guess it wont work out that much cheaper.0 -

Hi Seth, I have a tefal steam generator and we live in a hard water area too, i've had no real problems with limescale, you need to rinse a chamber out periodically which takes a few minutes, full instructions and equipment come with your iron. they are fairly heavy (not massively so) , i'm getting a proper steam generator ironing board soon which is built to take the big heavy base but at the moment i put the base on a hard wooden chair next to the ironing board and that works fine. no need to buy cartridges for mine, i don't think you do for others but i'm not 100% sure.
you fill up the water chamber, press a button and it heats the water up, indicates when it is ready then you just use as a normal iron really, much much quicker and more effective. mine does make alarming rumbly sounds from time to time, i assume it's keeping the water temp going, but thats normal apparently. I store mine in the utility room but have to iron upstairs (town house) and i'd say it was advisable to take a trip for the iron and a seperate one for the board in terms of weight etc. hope this helps a bit xx0 -

that's only £10 off (£50 - £40)
Also £40 at Empire Direct (ok - £40.54)
£39 at QED (38.77)
so is this not the one ... or was the original price from several years ago ?0 -
Just to get back to the Wardrobe mentioned at the start of the tread....has anyone else noticed that there are two (apparently) identical items in the Wrexham range? There appear to be two wardrobes with the same description and same dimensions - yet one is at £83.00 and the other at £150 (or something similar).
I noticed this when looking at the whole Wrexham range and am wondering whether a completely different wardrobe will turn up (if at all?!).
I have ordered one anyway, but am yet to receive an order confirmation, so maybe they are looking into any incorrectly listing?!?!
I may be completely wrong and missing something, so please feel free to correct me if that is the case!
