    Could you elaborate?

You have a netgear router, which model, is it plugged in and setup?

Is the message about belkin being available, your neighbours router?

Have you setup your laptop to connect to the ssid of your netgear router?

It is a DG834 which I've had for a while now but I haven't plugged it in yet.
I don't know whose router the belkin is as we have just moved here, but it says that the signal is too weak and I don't know what an ssid is!

ssid is the name of your wireless network, as is belking54G (which is your neighbours).
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time?
