Ubuntu is still OK though and it is more secure than Windows out of the box so to speak.

Actually, between Ubuntu and Vista, there's nothing in it.

Just a word of caution. People considering using open system software should investigate the security features. Unfortunately, OS systems are not as secure or robust.
Sounds like you might work for Microsoft! My Linux, Solaris and Windows systems all get affected by security issues and MS is easily the slowest at patching its OS

That'll be because you wear cords and a black polo neck, while listening to Jack Johnson in a room gently scented with incense sticks. :rotfl:

Third party plugins causing problems with the Mail app is hardly the same thing as crippling the OS. Nice try though!

You do have a point there Marty, hardly fair to blame Apple. Similar to the people who blame Microsoft when their printer or scanner doesn't work with Vista.

Says the man who has 2/3 OSes which took TWENTY FIVE YEARS to get round to fixing a file system exploit carried over from Unix.

Linux exploits only get fixed if the package contributors think it worth bothering with.
