Cargo furniture problems

We bought an oak table, chairs & 2 extension leafs from Cargo Homeshop in Septmeber, 4 months on and we are still experiencing problems with the quality of both the table and leafs.
We asked for the 3rd replacement table to be delivered to our local store instead of the home delivery we have had previously, and went to inspect the table today. The shop had not checked our product prior to calling us and after discovering that this one was also faulty we questioned the quality control on these products and therefore asked for our money back.
The manager reluctantly calculated our refund, however subtracted the original £25 delivery charge!
When we stated that we wanted this refunded aswell, he replied that he couldn't as this was charged by the manufacturer.
Can the retailer do this?

the queston is who arranged delivery?
If you arranged with the manf' to have this deliverd then your contract is with the manf' and you will need to pursue them for a refund, how ever, if if the shop offered to arrange delivery for you at a cost, then your contract is with the shop, they should refund you and get the money back from the manf'.
considering this is the third attempt at delivering this product, i think it would only be fair to arrange a promt refund as way off an apology for suppling faulty goods??

We have dealt with the shop and only arranged delivery times with the manufacturer. So I would expect the shop to refund the delivery charge.
We have taken details of their head office and will writing to them very soon. To make matters worse the manager of the shop did state several weeks ago that they would give us compensation for our troubles, but they are now denying this! :mad:0 -
Hi absolute0!
Thanks for bringing this to our attention - we've just ordered an item of furniture from Cargo (delivery to store) and would just have collected and loaded straight into the car before reading this - will be sure to check the item in store now.
Hope you manage to get your compensation sorted.[0
