Incidentally I'm convinced that part of the problem was the multiple reservation in basket thingie. Everyone (but me) seemed to be after S&G and P&P sets and were doing things like put 99 into their basket to keep an eye on stock. The stock update mechanism seems to be the Achilles heel of .com and it's very possible that if you refreshed a basket with 99 S&G sets in it then .com would not just update that to say 60 in stock, it would look around at all the other baskets with 99 S&G sets too and just have a hysterical fit. And then all the other baskets would freeze too. And with everyone trying frantically to get through check out and the stock going out of baskets during this bottleneck was causing more errors. Etc.
...
I never played around with putting 99 of something in my basket, but I did have a s&g bag and P&P bag in my basket (which I didn't get). My page went to a generic error after I paid, and I wasn't sure until late last night that my order actually was processed and is on it's way (without the "hot" items included).
Which means in the future, if people are after something they know lots of others want AND they want other things that are less likely to sell out in the first few seconds of a sale, it may mean you want to rethink the high-demand items so you have a better chance of your order going through without problems for the other items. I don't know, it would be tough to not try for the s&g bag (or similar items), but I guess it just depends what else you are buying -- if there are lots of other things in your basket that you really want, you may be risking them to get the "hot" item. And we all know what the hot items are because they are discussed non-stop on here, lol.0 -
I bought some things in the 50% sale incase they weren't there in the 75% sale, do you think i would be allowed to take them back and rebuy them at 75% off, if i can do i need to phone and ask or just take them in, what do i say when i take them back if this is ok.Married 09/09/090

and this is a picture of her orignal rabbit
I have emailed the seller to ask if maybe i could remove the patches but i have told my daughter that her rabbit is on holiday having an adventure and has been climbling mountains and swinging in trees with monkeys in he jungle so maybe the patches will add to the effect.
Thanks so much for everyones help!

Bit more background on this as i said i waited an hour for the same bus to come round the bus driver even remebered my but no one had handed in the bunny also rang the bus company searched at the bus stops too , She actually lost it on 23rd December, didn't ask about it too much to start with i guess with it being xmas and so much going on, but the last few days she has been asking for it alot so i thought i would get searching on the world wide web as its mybest option to fiding a replacement.
I'm sure your daughter will be happy with it,. when my dd hanky was eaten by the hoover we reaplced it and it took a few weeks for her to get used to, but a year on she can't even remeber what her previous hanky was like!
btw her bunny look very similar to my ds fav cuddle, also known as 'jelly cat' or 'smelly cat' (dont know why we called it that as its actually a dog)
Good luck!now has her .com delivery but doesnt know where to put it0 -
Hi all, not sure if anyone's posted this yet but I've just read the following on .com:
"Sale Update
We are experiencing temporary issues with our January sale here on Boots.com and currently cannot offer this service.
We'd like to apologise for any confusion caused and thank you for your patience while we work to resolve this issue.
To make the most of Boots fantastic sale offers we recommend you visit your local store where many products are still available at up to 75% off. To find out where your local Boots store is please use the store locator."
I reckon they might send the stock to stores!Addicted to MSE, I can't resist a bargain0 -
Hello; off into Southampton in an a few hours but will onlly have time to have a quick look in one of the stores fue to an appointment. Anyone advise whether i'm best off going the the High Street or West Quay store???
Know its late notice to ask but i can't resist a quick peak although my New Years resolution was not Bootsing in January!
In Southampton myself for an appointment today - nothing in West Quay this morning apart from the mince pie/pudding wine sets and a few very sad looking Santas! Will hopefully get into High Street later - fingers crossed they still have some goodies left.0
