As you know I'm pretty new to bootsing, but building in confidence all the time - my biggest problem is you lot making me want to buy things I don't need
So far, I've been restrained, but I feel the urge to go to the 75% sale (when it starts) But I don't need anything and I'm trying to save pennies/not splurge with the baby about to arrive - what's a girl to do?!
It is working the opposite for me - the more I read about it the less I want to go!!! Am off work on a Tuesday and Wednesday too but think I will take the girls to the playcentre instead, It is more rewarding!!! I am having to go into town tomorrow anyway after dropping the car off for it's mot which ran out in December:eek: so might have a scan tomorrow. Definately giving Wednesday a miss though - don't need anything and haven't really got the cash!!0 -
Been to Boots this morning and my favourite SA told me the 75% definitely starts this Wednesday. Just to add further confusion to the great .com will-it-won't-it-ever-go-to-75%-online debate, she told me that online will ALSO be on Wednesday..... she reckoned the early hours of the morning.
HTH:rolleyes:
You can't control everything in life....... your hair was put on your head to remind you of that

I was the same last year, my baby was born 28th Dec so was just tiny when the sale was on, I was on maternity leave and didnt really have the spare money and didn't really NEED anything but I went ahead and got what I could and have never regretted it, there has always been things in the loft for last min birthday parties and mothers day/birthdays etc
As long as you are careful to check any electrical items and check best before dates on any food stuffs then you will be fine.
Good idea to make a list of who your likely to need things for, no point having 30 toiletry sets if its mainly kids birthdays etc and vice versa.
That's a good idea - there are a few family birthdays in th early part of the year, grannies and so on and then mother day in March. So If I had a list then that would be moneysaving in the long run.
So far I've been very good and only bought essentialsr.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -
i think that we all buy things in the sales which we don't need because they are a 'bargain'. with the 75% sale i think you need to think ahead a birthdays, parties, christmas, etc and think what you will need for gifts for them and then you definitely save money from buying things in advance.
Scotsmum - you will definitely know what i mean if you have 4 kids too. if only i knew that my daughter would still like hig1h school musical or that my son will still love cars by next christmas - i could buy loads now and save myself a fortunenow mum of 4!!!0 -
Im wondering if different stores will start on different days? perhaps by area/region as there are clearly people who have been told Tuesday and others Wednesday. I guess we will no for sure tomorrow, just wouldnt want anyone to miss out on information that could be localised. Im in Aberdeenshire and SA were quite sure it's tomorrow here. I will pop in first thing and then update everyone when I get to work.
I wonder the same thing, but I sure hope they all start on the same day! Can you imagine the havoc if people report here the 75% off sale on Tuesday at their stores, so Bootsers everywhere rush out (perhaps skipping out of work and risking a nasty look from the boss or going with children in tow) and grab loads of items, only to find that at *their* store it hasn't started yet?!
I read this thread way to much, and fwiw, the vast majority of people have been told the sale starts in-store on the 14th.0 -

My oh was given this for Christmas he is a 34 waist and there were a few holes left can measure it when I get home from work if you like.

Ok so i rang CS,
Here is what they said -
Delivery driver letting himdelf into my house twice: I was put through to a seniour customer manager who took full details of my house layout, and is now investigating it along with the .com team. She is ringing me back later and has said that i will be fully compensated for breach of privacy.
Short dated slimfast: rang CS back as i forgot to mention it the 1st time, was told to take back to store for refund but as i paid via paypal the store would have to ring CS for CS to refund me manually. But as i only have 5 of the 6 packs as i opened and started to drink 1 before i noticed i only had till february i dont know how thats gonna work.
Overcharged on bottle of pantene by £3 but SA dedeucted 200points not 100: 200pts refunded.
Claryfy there returns policy after dragon SA refused an exchange/refund/goods to the value of on a faulty item without receipt: As it was a no7 branded item there is no reason why i shouldnt have been given an exchange / goods to the value of, crediting the amount to a gift card for future use is solely down to the managers discretion, printing of the order history would help, and so will a bank statement. I have now printed the said order from .com and will be marching back for my full refund. CS also said that if i come across any trouble instore then to get the SA to ring CS so they can tell them what there own policy is.
So all in all it was a good call to CS althought hey kept me on hold for a very long time whilst they put me through to a senior customer manager. But it all got resolved in the end. Just awaiting what is to come from the investigation now.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -
