  • Im wondering if different stores will start on different days? perhaps by area/region as there are clearly people who have been told Tuesday and others Wednesday. I guess we will no for sure tomorrow, just wouldnt want anyone to miss out on information that could be localised. Im in Aberdeenshire and SA were quite sure it's tomorrow here. I will pop in first thing and then update everyone when I get to work.

As you know I'm pretty new to bootsing, but building in confidence all the time - my biggest problem is you lot making me want to buy things I don't need :D So far, I've been restrained, but I feel the urge to go to the 75% sale (when it starts) But I don't need anything and I'm trying to save pennies/not splurge with the baby about to arrive - what's a girl to do?!

I have thought this myself. Its almost not money saving anymore, i am afraid this addiction to bootsing is some kind of ocd

It makes you wonder whether its all still part of a cynical attempt by big companies, to keep us consuming --whether we have an apetite for the stock or not.

I was the same last year, my baby was born 28th Dec so was just tiny when the sale was on, I was on maternity leave and didnt really have the spare money and didn't really NEED anything but I went ahead and got what I could and have never regretted it, there has always been things in the loft for last min birthday parties and mothers day/birthdays etc

As long as you are careful to check any electrical items and check best before dates on any food stuffs then you will be fine.

Good idea to make a list of who your likely to need things for, no point having 30 toiletry sets if its mainly kids birthdays etc and vice versa.

I was told last week by a very reliable SA that it was Weds. She got a memo out from under the counter to double check as well, so I would think that unless Mr B changes his plans at the last minute (which wouldn't surprise me :confused: ) then it will be Weds.

What doesn't make sense to me though is that if the online sale starts in the early hours of Weds, (as I think we all suspect now), then has Mr B not thought that we will all be too tired to shop instore, and he will probably lose our sales. Or is that what he's hoping for as he doesn't want us using our points when other shoppers will be paying with cash   .

  • Is is best to have a basket of items ready prior to online sale? Have seen messages re putting things in favourites, not sure what that is?

Ill be staying up tonight as theres a good chance it may start tues, if some stores may be, or even just to be earlier than in store.

I suspect the issue was people getting their 75% off online orders and returning to stores for 50% refund, so to be safe the online could only really be a day before or the same day as instore.

If you save the things that you would like to buy in your faves or wish list then you will remember what you want when the sale starts, when the site updates it may well be totally different from what is currently in stock.

If there are definate things you want then you can add them to your basket and when the 75% sale starts the price will change in your basket and you can order as long as the items dont go out of stock before you get to checkout.
