Here's a thought. What are the legalities of re-buying something you've already paid for?
Once the sachets have all gone, we face the prospect of having to make up Blinky Buys with other Pantene/Herbal Essence items costing £1.80+ which I don't really want.
What would happen if I were to walk into a store with 4 sachets in my pocket, immediately transfer them into a basket so as not to be walking around with them in my pocket instore, adding a No7 Item I want and taking it to the till to pay.
No7 item - £6.38
4 x Sachets - £3.88
(minus) £5 Blinky
To pay: £5.26 with 400 points
Boots logic: £1.26
Without having the sachets it'd be:
No7 item - £6.38
2 x Pantene - £3.74
(minus) £5 Blinky
To pay: £5.12 with only 200 points
Boots logic: £3.12
Now granted I'd have 2 bottles of Shampoo for £1.86, but to be honest I don't really care. I'd rather spend the extra 14p and have £2 in points.
Am I mad?
are you serious?!0 -

I think if you do something like this with the intent of making a gain you might not get otherwise, you go straight into the grey legal area labelled "Intent to defraud."
I'm not saying it is, and I'm not saying it would stand up in court, but I personally feel that doing anything you wouldn't feel happy about discussing with the manager after you'd been spotted doing it by the security cameras is probably a bad idea. After all, is it worth risking potential embarassment/banning/confiscation of your points card for the sake of a couple of pounds worth of Boots points? I wouldn't.....Val.0 -

EDIT
I was and I wasn't. It was something that got me thinking. I've removed the above so as not to draw anyone else into any possible dubious situations.0 -

Am I mad?
A long time ago some people on here did may still do this sort of thing. I remember people doing it with the med soap glitch where you were ment to get the soap free but got the gift set free instead. Stores ran out of the soap so they re-bought the soap to get the gift set.
Sorry if i offend anyone it's just my view but it is wrong! It will ruin it for everyone else as glitches will be exposed and anyone doing so will may face big problems if you get caught. Remember there are cameras every where and your Ad card records and retains all transcations.
Back then lots of argument were caused by certain people doing things under hand and we agreed that it is up you the person what they do but not to advocate it on here.:)Mummy to 2 wonderful boysWant to be fit for 30 not fat at 30but i want never gets!!!0 -
why on earth would you want to pay £6 over and over again for the same files you have already bought just to get points thats CRAZY in my opinion and I cannot understand why you would want to do this.
Can you not just wait til they come back into stock0 -
hi everyone,
haven't posted for what seems ages! iv'e been bogged down with four assignments to do:(
i've got one of the £2.50 off healthcare products from the mailing, and a £2.50 off that came in a sample of instant vitality vitamin c, so was wondering if anyone had managed to use them both together? fingers crossed
I just had all my slim fast delivered today, so i'm just going to enjoy my last flake tonight lol.0 -
est I would seriously decide upon not doing what you have set out above.
Firstly are you confident enough to walk in to the shop and take things out of your pocket that are actual stock and put them in your basket - what would you do if you were seen doing this by cctv or a security guard or sa? What if the security guard thought you looked suspicious decided to follow saw you kept fidgeting with your pockets and asked to check your pockets and as you had felt uneasy you still had the sachets in your pocket but you didn't have the receipt with you - this would look like theft. if you did have the receipt and were caught putting the items in the basket and questioned as mentioned above they could accuse you of trying to defraud them. People have had their ac cards taken away for much less than what you have suggested. You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Right ladies ( I'm guessing this thread is mostly ladies I have a few question and I will also give some answers )
Q1 - Does anyone know what no7 sets have the extra points/money off vouchers ? ( the OOTW skincare set did )
Q2 - How can you tell how many are left in stock ??
Q3 - Can't think of any more right now but I'm sure I'll be asking later !!
A1 - Anything you buy from .com can be returned even alcohol/food/cosmetics - this is because of distance selling laws which state because you couldn't physically see the item they have to accept returns - I checked with cs today and they confirmed this. so if you really want an item buy it at 50% and return it if/when you get it in the 75% off sale
A2 - generic error is caused by too many items being in basket that are out of stock and also too many items in basket ( I had this problem recently and this is what cs told me ) If you call customer services they can delete your basket and you start again, just incase I'm keep my items in my wistlist until the sale goes live
A3 - there is going to be an online 75% off sale I've been told by CS it's just a question of when, I suspect it's tomorrow so I'm setting my alarm just in case ( I did this last night aswell, and luckily was able to role over and go back to sleep when it didn't happen )
A4 - I've also been told the instore sale is going ahead on the 14th ( but can't get the day off !!)
A5 - There are loads of codes on the boots code board and it seems if you split your shopping into £50 spends you can get free delivery and 500 extra points
A6 - If your bonus codes seems to take and then doesn't, it could be because your logged in as a guest - you can either make sure your correctly logged in every time you shop or call customer services they are vey helpful and have added points on for me 5+ times when I wasn't able to shop due to generic error
Gladiators ready, MSER's ready on your marks, get set ( hopefully go will come at 3am ) p.s. loved all the chat last night I would have stayed up but with DS starting school again tomorrow and a full days work ahead I just couldn't, I must be getting old !!!!!!
Good Luck everyone
Hope we all get what we want
:jBusy mum of 3, so if my posts don't make sense or ask a silly question be patient:rotfl:0 -
Am I mad?
You might as well just put the £4 on a gift card for future use, cos all you would be doing is paying £4 for errrrrrr - nothing just to get £4 worth of points. MAD
Yes you get more points for the sachets but you get 8 times as much volume in the bottle for only 2 times the price.
Herbal essences have the same offer on instore and look much nicer if putting into hampers etc.
I have edited this post removing the quote and any referrence to its contents.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
