I do have Open office, but sometimes find it a bit cumbersome. My PC came with MS Works, but I got rid of it. How would OO compare with MS Works for basic home word processing, etc?
The newer versions of Works usually come with a full version of Word, so you get a decent Office Word which is obviously better than the OO word processor for the advanced features.

The rest of the Works software I would consider worse than OO - OO is much like Office except for the advanced features, and the MS Works spreadsheet, database etc. is very, very cut down in features.
