Hi Weemac
Here are the instructions I was given on other site.
Tools - Internet Options - Connections - Lan Settings - Tick 'use proxy server'. Address = webcache.blueyonder.co.uk, Port Setting = 8080
Click OK
Hope you can follow them as they mean nothing to me. Do make a note of anything you change so that you can go back if there's a problem.
I remove the proxy setting and go back to my original after I've been on the SP website just for safety. I've also noticed that it holds the proxy address and port setting (in pale grey) after I've stopped using the proxy, so it's a simple matter to switch on to it again next time for SP.
Let me know if it works on your computer.0 -
Thanks Be Happy
I have just followed your instructions and it has worked - have been able to put in my meter readings (what a shock bill that was!!!) and then have switched back to previous settings. I will do the same as you and just use these settings when I need to go onto Scottish Power.
Thanks again :-)

Glad it worked, Weemac. I only wish someone could explain why the loss of access to SP happened in the first place. I had been using it perfectly OK for nearly a year before this.
My son did suggest that SP site had been receiving SPAM from this particular ISP address and had blocked it, but I've no idea.0 -
It was strange that it suddenly stopped working at the end of last year as I had also been using it fine for a while. Just wish my bill wasn't so huge!!!Official DFW Nerd Club Member no 694

Please please please if you have a scary looking bill from Scottish Power then check your start reading on the bill.
My bill became available online yesterday and the start reading is 3148 units lower than the end reading was on the previous bill resulting in a massive overcharge on my bill. I can't wait for tomorrow morning to get it sorted out.0 -

Thanks icyv I will check mine when my bill is available online - I just thought it was much more than usual as we have had our heating on much more since beginning December but i will check the figures.
