The entire contents of the hot water tank were running through the light fitting in the main bedroom. There was also water running through some cracks that have been created in the ceiling.
I popped my head in at 4pm on the way past and it was fine.
Yep Sammy it is. I have a key.
The neighbour on the other side is a builder and he came in and put some small holes in the ceiling to take the pressure out of it. Good job he did - it poured through.
thats got to be a frozen pipe in this weather.......Quality is doing something right when no one is looking - Henry Ford

No - Gemmz, I didn't. The neighbour who is a builder has turned off the water in the street. He has drained the tank out of all the taps and has turned the main boiler off.
I took loads of pics on my phone (as I paddled around the bedroom) and the light went bang, so he's turned off all the power except the sockets so the freezer doesn't defrost (least of his worries)"Stay Wonky":D

It is going to be a new ceiling, bed, mattres (almost brand new) bedding, carpet, possible wardrobe (about 18 months old, there is water running down it), re-decorate - there are water patches on one wall.
Bookie - as far as I knew he had done. However, the water coming through the ceiling was hot - it was creating steam around the light fitting  and he has been away since Saturday, so something is still heating something somewhere. Neighbour has also turned off gas in case the empty boiler tried to heat up and cracked _pale_
What a mess to come home to on Saturday. No point in texting him, he can hardly do anything from France and he is working rather than being on holiday (school trip)."Stay Wonky":D
