BT Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan free?

  • Yes, thanks to both of you, I can see what you mean. Can you still access 1280 from primus? I'm coming from Talktalk who have blocked it.

1280 from Primus is ok as it is a CPS service. If you wanted to stay with TalkTalk and be back on CPS it would be worth your while to go here:

Beware that Primus also have a service where they take your line rental as well, so you will be in the same situation as talktalk, so you want the free "Primus Saver" service only.

    The Terms and Conditions say:
You cannot downgrade during the minimum period or any renewable minimum period.
If you do not wish to renew, all you need to do is let us know before the renewal date. If you choose not to renew your contract with us, you will then start to pay the standard monthly price for the Unlimited Evening & Weekend Plan, currently £2.65 per month plus line rental.

So what happens if you don't want to renew after the 12 months, are you allowed to change to the weekend only plan at £0.00 per month and then cancel at anytime after that? The T&C aren't clear to me on this point.

ive just called BT to confirm what would happen.

the lady said because its a renewable contract, the customer (us!) would have to call BT towards the end of the contract year and then could decide to stay on the same tariff or you can downgrade to the weekend tariff.

I was a bit concerned also as i have just placed an order to get reconnected back to BT from talktalk and i signed up for the Free Evening and Weekend tariff (12months renewable).

    hope this helps!

let say I have my calls via primus (cps ) and my line rental with BT .
Whats to stop me opting for free E&W calls rolling contract with BT and still keeping my CPS with primus .

    AFAIAA, nothing.

Indeed, opting for BT's Unlimited Anytime Plan and retaining a CPS calls provider should also be possible.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

It does not matter what BT plan your on you can CPS your calls also.

However if you cps your calls on the basic inclusive weekend call tariff, and then take the BT Evening and Weekend or Unlimited Anytime Plan i think your find all your calls will go back to BT.

That may well be the case.

    But why?

Possibly because you are agreeing to return all your calls to BT.

That is definitely not the case.

That is definitely not the case.

    Are you sure ?

My calls were CPS and I recently took out BT,s Free Rolling Contract Evening and Weekend Call Plan and now all my calls go through BT, none go through my CPS supplier, and i have not cancelled them.Their is therefore no way i can place calls via my CPS supplier.
