Why would you want your bad fortune screened. I know I wouldn't. 15 minutes of fame I suppose.

    Not necessarily.

Some people do those programs because they actually get help.

Some people do those programs to highlight the charities who have helped them and the the public bodies who have been as difficult as possible.

And others do it for their 15 minutes of fame.

Don't get me wrong - I'm not being critical of these families. It really is sad that they are in this situation. I'm not that hard-hearted!!

  • Not to sound too ignorant but..

In my view, first couple overstretched when buying, am i right in thinking he buys and sells cars? hardly a secure job.

Second couple very bad financial planning and third couple remortgaged like there was no tomorrow.

Ultimately it would seem this has all been bought about by Poor financial planning/awareness and irresponsible lending, Whilst i do feel sorry for these people, ive seen enough, im off to bed..
  • I am enjoying the chap with his 11% mortgage thanks to his adverse credit history....who somehow managed to qualify as a mortgage advisor. I bet his clients are impressed!

He's helping others out though, look at his website:

Homeowners have a distinct advantage when applying for a loan. Owning your home puts you in a strong financial position even if you have a bad credit rating. With an asset to offer as collateral against a loan you present a very low chance of non-payment to the potential lender. By virtue of the reduced risk, it is often a simple and quick process to arrange a homeowner loan it can even be for a higher amount than the value of your home.
