Which in-ear headhpones to accompany new mp3 player?

Can anyone recommend a decent set of in-ear headphones (I think I'm looking at the bud type) that I can use instead of the standard ones supplied with my mp3 player? The default ones aren't sitting correctly in my ears and aren't that loud!

That's a tricky one Lee, because people's ear shape and size vary so much, what is a good fit for one may be useless for another, and of course, due to health considerations, you can't try them in-store.

As a decent compromise between sound quality, comfort, and price, I have always been very pleased with Sennheiser MX500 earbuds ... LINK

  • i would definatly second senheiser! i got some from amazon and they are wicked! they came with different size earbud sleeves in a very soft silicon to match any ear size (except dumbo lol!). they also have a cord extension, a leather pouch and a neat little compact plate (size of usb pen) of which the earphones neatly wrap around and can sit loose in your pocket without tangling. definatly opt for noise cancelling-mine are and the sound quality is superb with no environmental noise at all! people can stand in front of you and shout loudly-you think they are whispering! bose are also excellent but very expensive indeed.my bookshelf speakers cost approx £700 for one pair but worth every single penny.

Shure earphones are very good. Sennheiser aren't bad either.

Sennheisers without a doubt - but be very careful where you buy them from as there are a lot of fakes about!

Not as good as Sennheiser, but if you are in a noisy environment like the underground/trans then One from Koss called The Plug. - and probably under £20
GOOGLE it before you ask, you'll often save yourself a lot of time. ;)

After trying many budget ones I find these to be the best compromise between price, sound quality and comfort and less than a tenner too ( and they stay in too)

UE's are good. I bought a pair a couple of months ago. But the Creative deal linked to above is superb value. They are very reasonable quality phones at a bargain price (I've used them and they are decent performers). I think they are rebadged Sony's.
