Aww yeah I cant wait, we jet off on the 17th (5 weeks tomorrow) for a week. Booked it last june as we got a ridiculously good deal on flights and hotel in the expedia sale. I've never been before and I am wriggling with excitement. I want to get bf something really nice to open on the morning of the anniversary but havent a clue what(I am hoping for an engagement ring;) ) That's hillareous about your hubby, blokes are so weird arent they. Its kind of like me (in a strange way) I absolutly adore cats, love em to bits but I am very badly allergic, last time I petted a cat I ended up in hospital stuggling to breath and see as my eyes were swolen shut (think Will Smiht in the film Hitch) lol (it wasnt a lol moment at the time but it is now I look back on it.) god I can ramble.
I want to get in on this scrap booking malarky that has you lot all hooked but I know the main problem I will hit is that I will buy lots of pretty papers, ribbons, stamps etc and instead of using them I will sit and look at how pretty they are0 -
Shevs - I look at how pretty things are... it isn't good when I really need to be actually doing things with them.
So jealous of your trip, it will be amazing! I hope you get your twinkly ring

Hello everyone, here I am in bright blue
My Money Neutral Tip for *January* is:
RECYLE YOUR OLD MOBILE PHONES AND INK CARTRIDGES! Martin has written this article on how to do it.
Last year I recycled 2 of my old phones and ended up with £19 in Argos vouchers from Envirophone.
I also recycled my ink cartridges with tesco for 100pts each (£4 in clubcard deals) and Boots for 100 pts (£1 to spend in boots).
So tip for January is to dig out all your old mobiles and see how much you can get and have a look if you can recycle your ink cartridges. That will start you off to being money neutral as you build up your points and vouchers
Money Neutral Task #1 Reminder - Sort through your present cupboard/drawer and dig out a notebook. Work out who to give the presents to that you have already got in your stash and write a list of presents you still need. That way you won't spend for the sake of it. The deadline to aim for is 25th January (12days) as this is the date of the first Rudolph Club held by Pinkladymel on this thread.
Ps - These ideas are only suggestions to help you get started. We will not dismiss you from the thread if you don't follow them

I reckon UKS must be busy
Boots sale is rumoured to be on Wednesday onlkine and instore. Last 2 years it has been on a tuesday.,...so I will be keeping my eye out and will let you all know. I have £175 in points to spend!!
Gutted about the car furrypig
Is it a special bday, if it is could you go for sometthing different, and is there anyone else that could contribute towards it
My dads 60th, he had a light aircraft flight, his 65th a 4x4 off road experience, he loved that, (£100), and his 70th this yr, he had a 3hr rally experience.
Hes had 2 hot air ballon flights, inbetween times, (the 1st was his present for when I sued my ex-employer), and the 2nd paid by mutual points cheques, we didnt go with the big company, we went with a local one, lot better smaller basket 8 in basket, and lot cheaper, we pd £147 last yr. xx
Who has got any inspiration for my Dad's birthday? The poor man gets a bottle, a jumper and a CD every year. Can anyone think of a good Dad b'day present? He is 50/60 and hates football!
Normal presents dad gets a bottle of Malt, he never complains......xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -
Sorry I was awol have been knitting - I made the ridiculous mistake of reading the crafty for Easter and crafty for next xmas threads and have a huge list of things i want to make and am in the middle of a jumper for DD.
Desperate not to break my only new years resolution of not starting something until the previous one is finished and I really want to get started on some bunny things..
Not much inspiration from here for your dad jamtart how about a glass a cardigan and a dvd :rotfl:. Don't want too much to change and frighten himOfficially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Sorry I have been AWOL but I haven't even posted on UKS 'honest guv'.
I had a nightmare day yesterday and so much to catch up on last night when I come home. Every now and then I will go a bit quiet as I have a lot of deadlines to complete for work and I get overloaded with things to do.
I am going to be at the Boots sale tomorrow bright and early.. and if it isn't on.. well.. there shall be hell to pay!:xmastree:Self Certified Christmas Addict:xmastree:0 -

Thanks for this, I am due for free upgrade and my current phone is worth £49!!!, I could get M&S vouchers towards gifts this year, but need to shift the dreaded credit card debt that has hung around since the car broke down before Xmas, but either way, excellent!0 -
Hi everyone ... I've been lurking for a while now and kept telling myself I wouldnt post till i'd read everything ... it took days and I thought I was catching up till I got to page 66 of the previous thread and realised there was a different one continuing on
... anyways I've finally done it (just dont tell my manager ... or my OH for that matter as he thinks all these extra hours in front of my laptop have been for the purpose of my studies!!).
I'm all up for being money neutral - not that it'll ever happen but hey, being semi successful at it has to be better than not bothering at all right?!
All you ladies seem really nice and I hope to get to know you all better
pinkladymel - i just wanted to say i've seen your work on other threads and I think its all stunning ... i've voted for you on the scrapbook apprentice (on every pc at work!) and I'd like to blame you for the £100 i spent last night on craft superstore whilst I HAD to buy some whispers pens that you used in your amazing tutorial (okay so the pens didnt cost that much - buy one get one free actually - but once i started adding i couldnt stop!!) lolCome On You Irons!!

I just looked up how much my OH's phone could get and it said £80  ... think i could get away with getting rid of it for him and making him use an old handset till his upgrade in a month?!Come On You Irons!!

hi all :hello:
No old phones lying around the house here as they normally go to family members, but its definately something to put in the diary to do next year when my contract ends
& no-one wants my cartridges coz they are cheap ones, not official
Had my purse nicked yesterday, taken from my changing bag which lives on the back of the pushchair, went through the hassle of cancelling cards, ordering new ones etc, wasnt a happy bunny
Bit happier today, had a phone call from the shopping centre & it was found under a bench by a cleaner. Mine & the OHs bank cards are gone, but they left the 30 pence worth of change (only money in there), they obviously dont have a sealed tin! They even left my boots card, silly people, shows that it was a moron who took it!
I'll be keeping my eye on boots online tomorrow, got things for my LOs 2nd birthday I want to get him on there.
Hoping to start ebaying again this week, promised my son I'd get his dr who micro universe doubles on there first, & any dr who 5" action figures that he's doubled up on & he can have the money from that (probably to buy more dr who stuff knowing him, lol)You cant take a step forward with both feet on the ground0
