Hello everyone, Happy Valentine's Day
Hugs to anyone who needs one. I need one today
Everyone's pressies sound and look great :T. My OH seemed to really like his pressies but was rather dubious about his heart shaped hot water bottle but that's fine cos it's for me reallyHe's at work today so I'm spending Valentine's Day with my boys. They've got fish fingers for tea and I've got a microwave meal from the local shop (left most of it, blooming yuk!) - nice easy tea (will have to trough on some of OH's chocs later that I got him for Valentine's)
I've written lots of blurb on the Card Making thread about what's been happening with me this week but if it's ok with you lovely people I'm going to write it here too cos so much has been happening and writing it helps me make sense of it all...
My mum was told yesterday that she absolutely doesn't need a mastectomy (after being told that she did) and can now move onto radiotherapy and getting better. This is such fab news but none of us can really take it in properly.
My youngest son fell off (or rather bounced off ) our bed on Thursday night. He cried lots but then settled down and went to bed. Yesterday it became apparent that he was struggling with one of his arms and after many hours at the hospital we found out he had fractured his collarbone. He is coping really well for a little one (he's just 2) and I'm so proud of him but feel responsible for allowing him to bounce on the bed.
My cat has been really ill this week but it getting better thanks to high-strength anti-biotics and a fab vet. He's got a liver infection, which could be the sign of something more sinister but not thinking about that just yet. He's improved massively since being on the anti-biotics so the vet thinks he's on the right road.
Also my OH told me this week that he's got to go to Dubai for work AGAIN . He only came back about 2 weeks ago and has to go back on Friday for 12 days. So I have half term week to cope with with a son with a fractured collarbone and then nearly 2 weeks after that with the OH in Dubai and not coming home in the evenings and rescuing me from my life of domestic drudgery - sob sob sob
Sorry, does this sound like I'm feeling a tad sorry for myself? I guess I do. Think nicking some of OH's chocolate later will make me feel a bit better

sorry about your Son Rusty !! are you and your OH doing anything nice tonight?
I am going to work at 8 til about 12 - 12:30 then will come home and probably go to bed .... he will sit and do goodness knows what and probably still be doing it when I get in and well after I have gone to bed .... the norm lately is that I end up going to bed on my own .... we were supposed to be doing valentines tomorrow but he said he couldn't be bothered so to forget it :mad: he is off out tomorrow with some lads from a forum he goes on to take some pictures ... not sure what of, or where he is going and nor do I care ..... I will probably end up taking the bairn out if he continues with his foul mood!Raising kids is like being held hostage by midget terrorists0 -
Big hugs rainmac - I hope things have turned a corner for you.
My friend has just finished her radiotherapy and said she was fed up with being crispy and covered in writing. Just to let you know there is a list of things they aren't allowed to use when they're having radiotherapy including deodorant and perfumed soap - she said her husband doesn't mind the ferret so he could put up with her for a few weeks. I think her warped sense of humour has kept her going
.
More big hugs for rusty - I can't really get the feeling behind this but MEN!Officially a non-smoker but still rounder than recommended

Awwwww poor little one .... he will probably cope better thank you will .... he is young enough to not understand... don't feel guilty ... it is a learning curve
boys will be boys
.... I had to explain to social services one day why my eldest was rushed to hospital with concussion .... turns out his real dad reported me (again) saying it was my fault ... it actually happened at his old school, one of the lads pushed him against the wall cause he was playing with a toy the other lad wanted!!! nice eh

Thanks Rusty, you sound as pi**ed off as I feel. I know OH can't help going away again but with everything else as well I do feel a bit dumped in the poo and left to sink or swim on my own. Good luck for your OH job or would you rather I not wish him luck cos you'd rather he find something much closed to home.
Do you want to pop round and help me scoff OH's choccies, got some nice bits sitting here looking at me saying eat me, eat me, EAT ME :rotfl::wave: If you want the rainbow, you've got to put up with the rain :wave:0 -

rainmac: my oh is in Oz for 10 whole really long missing him dreadfully weeks!
Not easy at all but you get there in the end. i spent Thursday like some emotional wreck, crying from 6.30am onwards!! Slightly dehydrated by the end of the day. it's not easy when you have kids but at least you know he'll be home at the end of his time away.
Take care,Mx0 -
mhagster, rainmac, Rusty and everyone who needs it - sending you all lots and lots of love and hugs. I hope that things get better for you very soon. Just remember the love you feel and have for your other halves and your children - that's what keeps me going. If i can help in any way - please let me know.
And my little angels are working really hard. I have plenty of them and I like to share :-)
