RMA Debt Collection Agency

Glad to see this thread.
This outfit called me yestarday about my MBNA card.
Now, I am up to date with my MBNA Payments, but I am £200 over the limit.
RMA called me again today. I gave the woman short shift, saying I had spoken to her colleague yesterday.
I have had no written communication from either MBNA nor RMA about this.
And I would have thought a credit card company wouldn't have sold on a debt unless there were a certain number of payments missed, and not for being acouple of hundred pounds overlimit.
Is this usual?0 -

-
oh and by the way if you dont want to be called at certain numbers do not provide them and we only call once a day if we can0

And Mr. Cragg confirms the opinion held of the 'quality' of staff at RMA, if indeed he works there.
If RMA hassle you, just make a formal complaint to your local Trading Standards office.0 -
hi, i had dealings with rma ages ago dont bother chatting with these morons do everything by letter but if they are harrassing you and over stepping the mark contact barclays direct and complain about them state you will never pay rma and they barclays are accountable for rma behavior also a letter to oft etc,pm me and i will tell you who to contact via email at barclays they will get there calls stopped ,speaking as some one who is now debt free i refused to deal with dca its pointless some creditors just bring them in to put preasure on you to pay what you cant afford offer your creditor what you can afford only up it when you can afford it,if they dont like it tell them you will see them in court, remember everything by letter only just think creditors do everything by letter ie you have 14 days to do this that ,that is there way of covering there backs and proof of what was said with you etc so you do the same in writing not silly phone chitt chatt, also tell your boss in confidence when it happened to me i did and he let me use the firms solicitor which combined with contacting barclays removed rma in my case ,but be positve im debt free now so to say the above is easy when you havent got dca after you but i cleared all my debt fromhard work and being honest if i had let the dca bully me in to paying what i couldnt afford id probably be still in debt now by leaving debts which should have been paid first all the best .oh by the way ignore tootsie roll (has issues is a debt collector then isnt a bit of a confused individuall)0

Why? The Practices Of Rma Etc Are Well Known Bully Boy Tactics And The Actuall Ability To Do Nothing Realy Is THE Case0

Hello, i have just discovered this forum and wish i had found it a year ago when i first had dealings with rma. Sadly, instead of checking out details and facts re debt collection i just believed what they told me and have been paying them a monthly amount of money. In March i asked what my balance outstanding was and nearly fainted when told that it was actually two thousand pounds more than the original debt! I have nothing in writing from them and they claim the charges have been issued by mbna and not them. I told them i would be contacting Morgan Stanley but was rudely told that i was nothing more than a bad debt and Morgan Stanley would not want to deal with me. Rma refuse to send me a break down of the charges - by the way i have just got the 'we are a telephone company' line - and are threatening to take it further. I also quoted OFT and CAB at them regarding business practices but was attacked verbally and it was then that the woman caller shouted that they wanted the balance now. They have also offered to do me a 'deal' if i can come up with the balance within a week. I know i shouldn't have got into debt (again the rma woman told me that in no uncertain terms!) What awful people - if anyone has any advice i would love to hear it.0
