But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.:D

Morning All :hello: Thanks as usual Sophiesmum
I'm back in harness now and bbrrrr it's cold
Today I have/will:- updated my signature (see below and ADMIRE
) but must add the challenges I'm now on.
- signed for my first MS of 2009 for tomorrow lunchtime
- done my banking, updated my spreadsheets and worked out what I must do (stop the spending I've been doing
)
- make a menu plan and shopping list (too darn tired last night after travelling/working) which will include lots of freezer emptying this month
- take some clothes to the charity shop and get a £5 M&S voucher because I have 5 pairs of smart M&S trousers which I no longer wear. Am slightly tempted to take them to 3 different branches of this charity shop and see if I can get 3 vouchers
(I have loads of other charity stuff, so it isn't 1 pair of trousers each time)
- clicks etc to be restarted.
- Must close the A&L account which I opened through Quidco a year ago and got £50, apparently I no longer qualify for the free banking and have been charged £5:eek: (I knew I was no longer complying with the terms but  )
Have a good day everybody :A0 - updated my signature (see below and ADMIRE

Hello everyone
Work Xmas party last night (yes, I know it's January) so am feeling a bit fragile today. Only spent £4.99 on a bottle of wine though cause we had drinks vouchers so didn't spend too much!
Checked online banking - £2 from National Lottery has come back in so transferred to virtual sealed pot and updated signature.
Daily scratchcard - 10p only.
Shred British Gas meter reading request letter.
Brought in HM stew, HM salad, HM flapjack, crinkly satsuma to mix with OOD yoghurt.
Update spending diary with bottle of wine spend.
BF is at a play tonight so I will hopefully go straight home and have dinner from stores and watch uPlayer - hoping for 2nd NSD of Jan today!
Have a great day everyone xx0 -
OO - OMG how did you cut it that much - indulge yourself in a diary - go on (mrs doyle voice) you know you want to.......well done
MM - DD owns the wii I only borrow it - love the yoga (as I dont seem to manage to get to my class anymore) and the balance things with the marbles and the tightrope thing - rubbish at hoolahooping as I am in real life!!!
Lilaxpixie (cool name) good socks and on a south facing balcony you would be able to grow quite alot - how you thinking about doing it (am gardener to trade....) its great fun - if you need seeds let me know you any - i have stacks and stacks and stacks (in fact I may actually be a seed merchart storage place but I just don't know....)
